JHS Pedals has worked on the stompbox version of the 1963 Silvertone 1484 “Twin Twelve” guitar amp, a pedal that will be available next week.

The original Silvertone 1484 “Twin Twelve” was a tube amp, but JHS Pedals chose a solid-state circuit with a charge pump that internally converts the 9V DC from the power supply into 18V DC so that you get a good punch and a wider dynamic range.

The pedal features 4 knobs: Volume which is a master volume that was not available on the original amp, Drive reproduces the volume control that was on the amp and will serve here for extra saturation, while Bass and Treble are almost exact reproductions of the 1484 Baxandall circuit with minor changes for modern guitarists.

The Twin Twelve can be used as a preamp, an enhancer or a booster.

The stompbox will be available on November 10th with a street price of $199.
