«  The overdrive or boost but the hot! »

Published on 03/20/13 at 16:20
This is an overdrive pedal that simulates the sound of the famous Bluesbreaker amp from Marshall. The case is in steel and large size, strong as a panzer .... Circuits are analog, manufacturing is pure British real Marshall factory, not relocated in Asian countries ... Three knobs: Gain, Tone, Volume. A true-bypass switch, a 9V battery or external input, output. Manufacturing quality is obvious, flagrant robustness, reliability flawless.

UTILIZATION

With three knobs, usage is very simple. The manual gives some examples of relevant settings, but the interest is good to find his own sound that vibrates, then with three buttons, it is quickly found. The battery is very accessible, and life is good.

SOUND QUALITY

This is a pedal that brings a lot of warmth to the sound. It can be used as a boost if you set the gain below 3/4. It will be a relatively neutral boost with the gain set low and high volume. In the amount of gain and setting the tone at noon maximum, you get to boost hot and creamy ways lamps, more intéréssant. There is much that the gain beyond the 3/4 volume and enough strong that it becomes a true overdrive with this side always muy caliente! It is true that the lack of progressivity knob, but just to know. She does not have a very high level of saturation, but it remains in its definition of overdrive, it's typically with Marshall, and very warm. Combined with my Marshall amp transistor 5210, it gives the hot side, as many tube amps can envy. When combined with a second overdrive in the loop, then it becomes even more wicked sound AC / DC pure juice.

OVERALL OPINION

I have over twenty years, she has not changed a bit. I'm careful with my gear, but it would survive a nuclear holocaust anyway! It will never be for sale, it is too good and helpful to me. Anyway my amp is married, inseparable. I bought a Chinese copy of TS9 overdrive for a more aggressive, which associated with softness and warmth of it made a tandem Dante. I love the warm it exudes quality and workmanship. I paid more than 500 francs at the time, largely justified price. Now its rating should be high enough and this is normal. I made a good choice at the time, no regrets.
