RME Audio showcases at Musikmesse until saturday three new ADAT, MADI and AES3 routers as well as two ADAT and AES digital converters.

The five new RME converters and routers are equipped with a new RJ45 designed for MADI transmission, along with optical and coaxial connections. This network connector also provides power and bidirectional audio transmission with single cable up of to 100m (depending on the cable length).

The MADI Router features four groups of three MADI I/O, which work as a patch bay and format converter between each other. A MADI Bridge function is included, it allows for output combination of audio channels from the different MADI input.

The ADAT Router is based on the ADI-648 model and provides 8 ADAT A/O, MADI optical, coaxial and Twisted Pair connectors, along with a MIDI I/O. The user can freely route the audio channels between MADI and ADAT.

The AES3 Router features four D-Sub 25-pin connector for up to 32 audio I/O, but these ports can also be configured to receive or send only, which extends the router capacities to 64 inputs or outputs. MADI optical, coaxial and Twisted Pair connectors are included, as well as MIDI.

The three routers are also equipped with a TFT display, a redundant power supply and USB ports which can be used for preset storing and firmware updates.

The ADAT Converter can be used as a router extension, in this case it can be powered through the two MADI Twisted Pair connectors. It provides up to 8 channels of ADAT to MADI TP conversion and vice versa.

Last, the AES3 Converter can be configured to convert MADI signals from the router in order to send and/or receive 32 or 64 channels, depending on the router configuration.

The five RME modules will be available this summer.
