Bass preamp pedal from MXR

Several weeks ago we announced the introduction of a new MXR preamp pedal. It seems the wait will soon be over…

Jim Dunlop/MXR are set to introduce the M81 Bass Preamp at the Winter NAMM 2014. But before that happens, they want to tease us with a demo video.

The M81 is a bass preamp pedal — that far we knew — featuring a 3-band EQ with mid-sweep (250Hz to 1kHz), a DI, a Pre-/Post-EQ switch for the DI signal, a ground lift, and separate controls for the input and output levels.

The pedal uses the Constant Headroom technology (to get a “crystal” clear sound, according to the manufacturer) and, even more interesting, the pedal is programmed to operate in Buffered Bypass with active EQ and DI sections. However, it will be possible to deactivate the DI and enable a True Bypass mode via internal switching.

The availability and price haven’t been disclosed yet.
