«  A good compromise »

Published on 05/03/10 at 14:04
I do not have to provide tech info, I bought this dobro that was hanging in a music store for months ... no record, oxidized strings .... but a good price.
the handle is very nice, just adjust properly
bending the ivory color makes it rather soft to the touch and the frets are wide and comfortable
No microphones, it is unfortunate but considering the price ..

UTILIZATION

Same remarks it has (very much) for his money ... for what is sound, it often blames the stuff but never use your fingers .... Surprised??
with a little practice, you get a sound quite easily and compresses slightly metallic, with a little less shine a metal dobro more heat ... but pure blues ...

SOUNDS

I love the way its steel ball that turns into a bucket of zinc ...
Even if it makes a little Pissed off some ... it does ..
you can play "Sittin On The Top Of The World" loop but avoid Ry Cooder ........ it lacks a little sustain
Perfect for singing for my taste ..... how "Empire State Express"

OVERALL OPINION

I wanted a dobro to the side roots, new sounds and work the bottleneck in open ...
I use it for 5 years so irregular ....
I would still like to try him stick a piezo or another, just to see but I think it would top ...
Unless it's an ultra bottleneck or a clone of Bob Brozman, this little dobro allow you to express yourself on new records and sing your blues when you feel the need quite honest, realistic, and given the price, you not even hesitate to take him on vacation ..
