« It's so wonderful! »

Published on 10/19/14 at 02:48
One of the first digital reverbs.
12bit converter.
Sounds can be edited with the remote, it has no DAW support, obviously!
XLR connection
No MIDI :)

UTILIZATION

Extremely easy and intuitive configuration.

SOUND QUALITY

The reverbs of the 224 are unique! With a very particular color but they are so rich and musical. Very far from a TC, it's the exact opposite.
All sounds turn beautiful and moving.
The reverb tails are far from being fine, you can certainly hear the 12 bits, but that's what nice about them! Afterwards it's a matter of taking sides, some people love it and some don't. I'm a fan.

OVERALL OPINION

I had it and sold it to get a Bricasti M7 instead. But the result is not quite the same, despite what the ads say :)
The M7 is very dense and splendid as well, but it doesn't sound anything like the 224. You could say that they complement each other.
I also sold the M7 to buy an UAD plug-in. Big mistake.

The MAIN weakness of this unit is that it's very fragile, very old and the spare parts are very hard to come by, plus being quite expensive.
