Laney HCM65R

I went to Mr. C's music in Marlboro, Massachusetts and purchased this amp for about $250. This is my first amp, and it is great for both beginners and experts. It's loud enough to be heard over a drumset, and not heavy enough to need wheels. All in all, a great choice.

There are two separate channels, a clean channel and a "crunch" (distort) channel. The crunch channel is very versatile, and can be used for metal, punk, classic rock, everything. There is also a headphone jack for late-night practicing and a global FX loop for pedals & stuff. This amp is very versatile, and VERY LOUD when you need it.

There is one problem, which is the bass EQ knob on the crunch channel came loose a few weeks after i bought it. It rattles occasionally, but it is not annoying enough for me to take it back to Mr. C's. TI amy be a little heavy for some of you littler guys & gals out there, but suck it up & go work out or somehting, you'll be fine.

I really don't know how the amp is compared to others but it seems to be well put together and has stood up to a decent amount of abuse.

This is a very excellent amp, for practicing at home and doing gigs, and is very versatile, definitely a great choice for beginners and experts.

I bought this little piece of power at Glory Days Music and I think I bought it for $370 (U.S.).

Anyone (yes you you little rocker!) anyone could hook this thing up and make it sound very decent.(When I first got it, I turned the bass all the way up on my Mexican Stratocaster and switched on the Crunch channel and turned the Crunch knob to 10 and the bass knob to 10 and everything else all the way down and it sounded somewhat "tuby") If you wanna be the loudest kid on your block this amp is for you! 65 watts of power should help in some situations where volume is needed and the price wasn't bad either.

The Distortion channel lacks something it is very hard to get a good quality punk-rock tone. It has spring Reverb so when you rock it back and forth, it makes that little noise. The Volume is kinda hard to get to where you could play in your room, but there is a headphone jack unlike Fender's 65 watt. Another thing is that if you want to turn the distortion down, the volume goes down too.

This Amp has a 10" speaker and spring reverb. I know that the actual casing is very sturdy but the only traveling I've done with it was to my garage and back. It is a solid state amplifier so you don't worry about a tube warming up and wearing in. It has a speaker jack, an effects line in and out, it has a clean channel(Volume, Bass, Mid, and Treble) and a distorted channel(Crunch, master Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble) and a reverb knob. A footswitch jack is also present. And There is a Headphone jack and a CD line in.

Um, yeah, a very solid amp but a word of warning: you'll wake the neighbors if you turn it up past 5

Don't listen to me though go look at one today!

Very easy to use.
But we must tweak a bit to find his SON!

SOUNDS

I play the SKA / Punk ibanez with a small, unpretentious and sound with me.
As said before, even with a drummer nag, that Laney did his job.
However, the sound is very clear way.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months donf and it does not move!
It has potatoes (Speaker 12 "Celestion).
The price / quality ratio seems excellent.
A rather good little amp ROCK, METAL.
If you're like me, financially limited, go for buy it well CRUNCH! ! !

In its price range, it is very good ...
This is not a MESA BOOGIE ... normal!

Transistor amplifier 65 watts (Good fishing for 65 watts!).

Between a skyscraper, from a cd (cd / line in) to calibrate your device sound, making your switch, and 2 for your FX! loop (delay, tremolo etc. .....)

If not you have a volume knob master, 2 band equalizer (bass, middle, treble) one for your clear, one for your crunch. You have to crunch the intensity and volume knob, and then you have a knob for the reverb. There is also the MAX button for your crunch that will exacerbate the crunch and presence that will give better sound.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is accessible to all of you just take a moment p'tit above.
In sound I can find a sound that I like but I'm not trying to stop the rebidouiller knobs. But in general the sound is good although the knob is not sensitive enough for my taste so I put 8

SOUNDS

Personally I took it to play ska / reggae / rock finally all that is festive and I got to get his reggae / ska and even a little roots if there are good looking. I play an Epiphone Les Paul Studio in (of course) and Marshall JH-1 from a boss ds-1 and a Dunlop cry baby. And everything is going very very well with the grain of the amp especially the wah wah.
The sound of the amp is vachment clear but the grain gives it a good fishing in the grave, qd is played on strings (normal) so no need to mount your bass knob a background!

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using less than a week and I'm not disappointed. I pay around € 300 (nine) and the ratio quality price is rather interresting. But I do not think against this amp again if I had to buy one. Qd same I will opt for a good marshall.

But I would recommend this amp is really good!
