UTILIZATION
Very easy to use and very complete range of possible routing and side chain processing,
Eq soft and somewhat incisive
SOUND QUALITY
- Pre Amp extremely quiet, smooth and dynamic, but rather poor for the price,
- Suptilitées the sound between the different choice of impedances remain soft in terms of color change,
- Probably one of the best 3 or 4 EQ on the market with API and NEVE, (it is here that the famous ISA 110 made from a personal order of Sir George Martin)
- A compressor honest but not fabulous, nothing to roll over as soon as we add a little line, better than the very bad series "VoicemasterPro" very poor range of platinum
- In manual mode, the compressor is Qualibre
- A good esser
- A gate relatively useless!, But hey why not!
OVERALL OPINION
I think the 430 MKII is one of the machine "Voicebox" modern and best located in the market, not too expensive in terms of performance,
extremely clean and precise, perhaps even too much, he lacks a bit of heat and power in the sound compared to a slice API example!
compared it with an Amek Neve CIB, as the pre amp and comp mode of the MM & amek are much more powerful, but Eq Isa is the best!
So in fact it is better to buy a neve Amek DMCL with a double Eq Focusrite RED!
