It is an Indonesian. The bridge is a vintage style (it is a Fat 10). The handle is .. Flat and the guitar has 24 frets. Configuration is HSH pickups and has a 5-way switch. One volume, one tone, it's okay for the price.

UTILIZATION

The neck is super nice. Oiled and well finished, this is a really good handle Ibanez offers. The form Rg is easy to handle, the balance of the guitar and is compared to other guitars of the same range, it seems when you take this guitar into an instrument .. Real. Not like some JS30 etc.

Access to acute is easy as pie, and microphones do their job. Change can be a definite plus as the violin is really good.

SOUNDS

Metal, hard rock, etc. .. This is his domain! The pickups are a little rough at high gain but it is not yet so disturbing. All sounds in standard tuning or drop in short, a real guitar! But I admit that the single microwave in the middle does not attract me.

OVERALL OPINION

This guitar is not for me but for my brother so she is in the family since we started playing. Tested in almost everything (see my hardware) is always present! Of low-end models I tested a lot and it stands out. I love the finish, the playability of this guitar. What I like least is the vibrato that does not agree (have to press it against the table to do more than it happens) and simple micro has no value on this guitar.

Very good guitar for beginners and resilient with age!

Got this as a second guitar for gigs/teaching from amazon. I'm on a fairly tight budget (which i seem to spend all of on musical stuff), and paid 160 quid for it.

Fairly good sound for the price. Good neck - easy to play. The wilkinson style bridge is a little better than the trashy strat copies that most super strats have. The colour ("jewel" blue, allegedly) is rocking!

The standard machine heads are horrendous. Kluson style budget copies that cost about 3 pounds from most instrument shops. Swapped them for some grover locking tuners that i had lying around. The tuning stability and intonation had to be set up properly when i got it, because the thing just wouldn't stay in tune, and the 12th fret octaves were totally out, but a bit of adjusting at the bridge sorted that out.

The guitar has a solid agathis body, which, although not the best, is a whole lot better than most cheap electrics. The hardware (apart from the machine heads) is all pretty sturdy. The neck is great - standard Ibanez 42mm width, which makes it easy to fret - especially when you're playing quicker stuff. The output jack has a tendency to come loose, but that happens to my schechter too, and that was a ot more expensive.

A pretty good guitar for the money. Don't expect it to be perfect, but with a little work, it'll be just as good as something 50 quid more expensive.

I Bought this guitar from a local shop in portsmouth,I got it because i herd it was a very good heavy rock guitar to start with, it cost £130, which is good cos it retais around £150.

I lke the balance between the body and neck, it provides flexibility whn playing.
As with most ibanez guitars the factory set up is very good. The guitar is well known for the amount of tones accessble for this price. The sound you get on distortion is mental!! It keeps you in your room for a good few hours the first time you plug it in.

The only bad thing is that you occasonaly get fret buzz, but other than that its perfectly fine.

The constuction of the unit is very good, ive dropped it on a hard wood surface before and all that happened is it came out of tune and got a couple of scratches, the balance is very good, set up and value is exccelent, stays in tune too.

Overall it is a great sounding, sturdy unit,with a good set up great balance and is a superb choice for beginner to intermediate skill and has great bang-for-the-buck ratio. So what are you waiting for...Go buy it!!

I baught this from the academy of sound in leicester for £190 english with a gig bag.

I love this guitar, i havent had it too long but from how long iv had it iv found NO faults or anything i really dislike. I love the way the bridge (tremolo) can be used like a whammy bar + with a whammy bar the strings actually come off the neck. The finish on it is fantastic, i have mine in a shiny blue colour, i also like the way that mine has different inlays to the normal ones (its a sort ov triange) I love the pickups (there are 5 by the way) and feel of the neck, i LOVE this guitar!!!!

If anyone is considering a new guitar, get this one, at only about £180 its a complite bargin. my friend has a gibson les paul and envys my ibanez! absoloutly brilliant.

As a starting note I would like to mention that this review is from the point of view of a metal/hardcore fan, so I'll be concentrating on the guitar's ability to play "heavy" music

I started to play an accoustic guitar at quite a young age, but due to my love to metal music I just had to buy an electric. Anyways, without much research done, I went to the biggest guitar shop around and was offered an Ibanez GRX70 with an amp as a great beginner's set for a little under 300 Euros. I was very exited to finally get some distortion and the feeling to get that distorded sound from my own amp for the first time was purely amazing.

The neck of this guitar is awesome for playing metal and generally easy to play with due to the thin/flat neck. The guitar is also very nice to look at and doesn't weigh too much either, which is the case with most of the Ibanez.
There's no doubt that this is a first electric for anyone into metal.

In the end, it is a beginners guitar. I played with it for around three years, which was undoubtfully a too long time. I'm playing in a hardcore band and for my purposes the guitar is just not "heavy" enough, it's fine for jazz, blues, hard rock and some 80s heavy metal, but no good for extreme music. Although I must say that the accoustic doesn't really come across purely, without an effect, too well either.

I haven't really treated this guitar too gently and it's fallen to the ground a couple of times. It's generally stood the shocks, but there was one time when I needed to meld some of the cables inside the guitar back together as they had detached. But now it works well...
The pickups are quite horrible and not really worth anything, but, as I already said, alright for beginners.

Indeed my review doesn't give a too good overview of the Ibanez GRX70, but there's no doubt that it is a great guitar for beginners. My opinion has changed with time as my skills have developed, so if you consider yourself a good guitarist, or play in a band performing gigs, don't buy this.
So, as a finishing line: Solid guitar for beginners, but not sufficient for experienced players.

I bought this guitar from the academy of music in brisbane for $529 AU. I was looking for an electric guitar to replace my old acoustic and this was in my price range, i had a look at some stratocasters and other double cutaway electrics but i was extremely unimpressed with the quality of sound. I had a play of it in the shop and told them to wrap it up.

Great guitar for fast playing, 22 frets, chrome hardware, comes strung with d'addorio strings and of course the 2 humbuckers make it sound fatter and hairier.

It could come in a larger range of colours, and maybe an extra tone knob but other than that its grrrrrreat.

Solid body in Deep Red stain, wizard II neck(very playable), made in indonesia, I could probably throw this guitar off the roof of my house and nothing would happen.

Excellent guitar for the price i paid, could stand up against a marshall half stack if it needed too, if your looking for a good first or second guitar this is the best choice.

I Acquired this product from mackay music supplies in Mackay, Queensland Australia.
I paid AU$542 (sorry i am not sure what that would equate to in US dollars). (this guitar came in 'Jewel Blue')

This was my @nd guitar, and from the moment i saw it i just loved the look about it. From the 3 Pickups. (2 humbuckers, and one single coil). I loved the colour because it showed the wood grain, The timber on the back of the neck was really soft and of lot better quality wood than my other Guitar. I picked the guitar up and played it in the shop through a Marshall MG 30DFX, which i bought as well. I loved the humbuckers, because it stop that annoying hum that single-coil pickups tend to have. The Tremolo bridge is fantastic, and is inscribed with the word "Ibanez".

The only thing i don't like about the GRX 170 is that the bridge does not have individual saddle adjustment like Fender guitars have. This is really no big deal, because i recently took my grx back to the shop to try to get my string buzz fixed.

And the problem is easily fixed and i am happy again.

The GRX 170 is a solid wood bodied Guitar, with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard neck. The neck joins the body by 3 screws (i am told that this is typical of most guitar necks.) The Guitar features chrome hardware, black Controls, (two in total Volume and tone). black headstock and self lubricating stratocaster style machine heads. The guitar i think looks really good, with its nice blue finish (also comes in grey,black and transparant red!). The wood grain on the guitar sets in really nice with the colour.

I really love this guitar, i think that the quality is of a high Standard.And if you are looking for a good Quality first/second Guitar, this guitar may be right down you alley. On the Ibanez website, they claim that the wizard II neck featured on this guitar, is the most playable in the price range. I would seriously check this guitar out, i am sure you will like it.

CHARACTERISTICS good. Two humbuckers, 1 single. In my opinion, you must be changer.Tournez to EMG or Seymour Duncan. 2 pots a 5-way switch (APRS year, I'm still not coment ... he walks five positions as ...). The bridge / vibrato is quite crap. It dsaccorde all. Otherwise the handle end is super screwed gnial. Frankly, the pickups and the vibrato changes, it is divine (I think I have not yet done)

UTILIZATION

Channel divinely enjoyable play. Access in acute plutt is cool. Enjoyable form playing guitar and lightweight. With the original pickups, the sound is correct, if you change is atomic.

SOUNDS

The style of music best suited? rock / hard rock. It can be Utis for something else because it sounds good vacuum. I play with a fender 25w transistor and the fact. As indeed, a big muff or a ds-1 are beautifully case. The sound is very fat distortion, slamming rather plain. If you can, change the pickups, if not made too. I put the 8 sounds pretty cool.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year. I love his lgert I do not like her vibrato. She does my Premire scratch and I'm happy. The report price is good quality. 235 euros total purchased music. I would do this choice, but by changing the vibrato.

So the neck is not too bad, but in retrospect, way too late, it's not what I prfre but it is of the same fun.
trs is not heavy ... and not sound too bad my empty time ... for a skyscraper in this range

SOUNDS

I play mainly Trash / Death / Black so I switched the mics to get more gain.
Once the set EMG81 bridge it sounds wicked is not bad at all.
for now I use it with a Vamp Pro -> PA, A tubeman -> Power Driver -> Cry Baby -> PA, or a Laney amp ch'ti HCM15R (I think it is the REFERENCE good)
crystalline sound is not too ca. but it can still do more than clean sounds correct.
But nothing has Disto y'as nickel is wrong ... I tried it on different amps and ca do

but the change of microphones needed ... (I put a 7 because of it)

OVERALL OPINION

I have for over a year.
its strong point is the handle and weight that are good
the weakest of the pickups origin.
I tried a few and Cort Squier but I did not so much.
qualitprix the report is good, do not complain.
I keep it in second scratch since now I have an ESP EC-1000

This skyscraper has experienced some changes recently ... It is under "customization so to speak ...
His new tune is in B (with Ernie Ball 12-56), it does dpourvue microphones useless (the Neck and the central, Micros Powersound no personality and therefore has a EMG81 in Bridge.
So it is no more slcteur microphones. And 2 holes instead of two old microphones (which is ugly, so I'm trying to make a custom pickguard in aluminum, which will be nice), I left a volume and a Tone.
The nut is plastic but more bone and the inscription "GIO" above the head of Ibanez Has clears. It also has Dunlop Strap Lock to avoid any falls during concert.

I dplacerait to a notice on an Ibanez GRX Sorgen Custom ds the end of the modification with photos ...

Korean made, 22 frets, two humbuckers and split (the V7 and V8 Cramique Ibanez no longer manufactured) a simple vibrato knives, Volume - Tone, 5-way switch.
Mahogany body, neck stocky, rosewood fingerboard.

UTILIZATION

Channel super enjoyable with either medium or light strings hard, comfort is always Submitted ..
Access in acute easy, Ibanez RG shape so comfortable to wear on scne, reasonable weight (it is clear that comparing a Les Paul, it is super lightweight, as a stratum roughly).
One branch is the amp RULES, and we were off to the big rock, it's big ... It is a skyscraper that makes t in 1994 and has aged really well (super rare in these lines of guitars) and THE SOUND WITH!! , She rings of death! (Unlike the new or that it had the sound was so so).

SOUNDS

This is a scratch which originally sounded for the versatile, able to do while average quality ...

As said before it's beginner guitar in all its glory. It allows a little s'inicier all genres and find his own. The handle end can be quite aquérir attack and speed fast enough. Libre each explooiter guitar in his style but the first it does!

I started with a Marshall Valvestate 30 worse dipstick plug on peavey bandit 150 or AVT, the sound comes out more or less, but the study was cool

OVERALL OPINION

I was there must be close to 7 or 8 years ... Today it is in its case and I go out occasionally to blow a few notes and polish ... The violin was more or less held up but I must admit it is long remain without case or gig bag or anything so ... it's still pretty solid.
I m'rtait Pench at the time on Squier Start and Tele, which was more expensive and less attracted to me. The handle end Ibanez being one feels immediately more at ease I find ...
The value for money is good, it's an entry-level pure guitar beginners who manages to satisfy the greatest number and make them want to continue!
