«  Oh! The beautiful JEM! »

Already owner of SBS JEM I am madly, I fell for the new FP2, a pure spirit of a collector because basically it's the same guitar. Only fixing the neck and vibrato are different. For the rest, even violin, even mail. Copy and paste the data sheet:

Basswood body
handle "Monkey Grip"
Channel JEM Prestige maple / walnut
Rosewood
648mm pitch
Nut width 43mm
430mm radius of the key
Benchmarks "Tree of Life" in abalone
24 frets W6105
DiMarzio Evolution neck pickup double
Micro vibrato double DiMarzio Evo 2
Micro central simple DiMarzio Evolution
Vibrato Edge
Transparent plate
Chrome hardware

We love it or hate it, but this guitar has a real face, a style of decoration which belongs to her. The wood is covered with fabric which is then varnished. The cutting of the fabric in that each guitar has its own reasons and is a unique ...

UTILIZATION

The handle is a real Velvet, softness inexpressible. For cons, the only flaw of this guitar, why did you choose a traditional round screw while most of JEM have a handle "All Access"? Too bad, really. The descent to the treble is like all the guitars like Strato, with the hand that ends up banging against the heel. While in All Access, you go down on the box in the 24th meeting resistance. Odd choice. A priori, to meet the specifications of the first FP.

It was not until I pay a little vibrato to the holding of agreement is perfect. Too bad the guitar is not set perfectly delivered, at this price, it is reasonable to wait ...

SOUNDS

His side, well, it's a JEM with microphones Evo :-) What It sings, that module, it responds to blow médiotor, it carves up the volume, a real treat. Its look and designer could think of it as a guitar rock nag reserved. Nay, it is very versatile. I use it with my cover band Pop / Rock, do not worry, it happens everywhere ...

I plugged into an AXE FX ULTRA, which is connected either directly into the sound system, or (my return) on a Marshall 1960AV Cabinet 20/20 +. In other words, it sounds and all sounds. Well, of course, this guitar is particularly comfortable in the big rock and even heavy rock. Steve Vai is a design, though :-)

OVERALL OPINION

Value for money ... Uh ... And again, my dealer made me an additional discount for the 25th anniversary of the store. 2600 euros ... It stings a little anyway, and it is not necessarily justified. The next limited and unique models to weigh in the price, I suppose ...

Repeat the same choice? Hmm ... With this story of Bolt, maybe I would hesitate ... Whatever, it is really too good this guitar:-D But it does not dethrone the SBS of its status as favorite.
