Ibanez RG505

Ibanez has had tons of variations of the RG. The RG505 is basically an RG550 with a rosewood fretboard instead of a maple one. The guitar features a basswood body with a black pickguard, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, 24 jumbo frets, an Edge bridge, HSH configuration, one volume, one tone and a 5 way switch.

UTILIZATION

The guitar is as good as any other RG, really. In fact, this guitar reminds me more of the RG570 than anything else. The quality is generally fairly good on the old Japanese RGs, and I find them to be a bit more resonant than the newer ones. The fretwork on these is usually pretty good, and the higher frets are very easy to access. The Edge bride is probably one of the best floyds out there in terms of both feel and stability.

SOUNDS

The stock pickups in this guitar are pretty bland sounding. Once you replace them, however, it really comes to life. DiMarzio makes tons of pickups that sound very good in basswood guitars. The HSH configuration also leads to the ability to get tons of tones. It can get that strat "quack" sound with the 2 and 4 positions. The middle position is great for clean passages. The neck and bridge humbuckers deliver full power brutality when you need it, and they can really overdrive an amp if you put the right pickups in it. I love basswood when it comes to fusion and shred style music.

OVERALL OPINION

If you're looking for a rosewood version of the RG550, you'll want to try to hunt one of these guitars down. They're a bit more rare than the RG550, so it might take awhile to hunt one down. Personally, I prefer a maple fretboard to the rosewood in terms of looks and tone. Basswood is generally fairly middy and somewhat dark sounding, so the maple fretboard helps brighten it up a tad to cut through the mix a bit better.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 years and I did not find any defects.
when you change your strings and you grant it does not move until you change it, the floyd is perfect and the handle is a highway.

I had an Epiphone Zakk Wylde too heavy with a handle less pleasant and I have an ESP II clips but it was not comparable in terms of price quality ratio.

is a super versatile guitar.

Bought new in a new old stock in Italy there are cel 2-3 years to 301, I had to do some restoration work on the neck which had jou as stock in order floyd e high (argh!).
The handle has three months to readjust with 6 re-rglages, but since, as quoted below Dutmicha once hot tune the guitar, it does not move to the next string renew.
Since this work, the action is low as I like a breath on the string (or so) and this without any buzz.

UTILIZATION

Impeccable

Although a bit heavy but balance Paisse ... because I mostly make my taste Blade DDR-2 which is its object.

yes, 3 pickups HSH passive home is excellent.

passes on blues, rock and hard rock 80 proudly.

long played on a pedalboard analog, all t has always returned a 112 or Atomic various Fender and Mesa friends.
Despite my rcente mugration Zoom G9.2tt to a one, always in the Atomic daily, this guitar always gives me much satisfaction.
- What kind of sound you get and with what rglages ("crystalline", "bold ",....)?
As I Crivis prcdemment, this guitar is known to all, both are Humb dbouler cavalry, greasy or trs incisive, and the single product a clean prcis that commands respect when adds a good disto derrire.
The entire guitar has a 90 alive and well.

The 5-way switch just get spit, I have to change (and for that damn DPOS floyd, I'll still have fun!)

C'tait my second APRS a Yamaha Pacifica 112 ... I sold.
I also possde dsormais Blade DDR-2 and a Custom Telecaster, Ibanez is a little bit this became the mascot of the curia.
This is the most comfortable of all with her slim neck, the strings that border the frets along the entire length of the handle, Access in "big highs" ais prcise and versatile, it has a more pickguard with its unusual look, which makes a nice collectible.
