I use DCL200 studio pro for 3 years and I do not get enough! This is a dual mono compressor with stereo link button, tube and transistors ... and that's what is beautiful. It is dynamic as the transistor, the treble is clear and bright, and the medium is hot, deep bass ... it's good! It has all the usual settings of a compressor. The entrance is set over the level of signal you send it. Then you set your threshold by opening the ears and visuialisant gain reduction on the meter. You adjust your slope (ratio). we speak here of the curve rather than compression ratio as the curve varies with the amount of compression you want (it's subtle, but it's the advantage of work with lamps). You then adjust the attack and release, depending on your sound source. The last button (which is the first in the row) will nail your ass to the ground: you adjust the output gain seen with your meter set to "level". Here you take a slap!
Compared to other compressors in output mix, the sound is clearer, a lot of fishing and a very wide bandwidth. The phase is also well respected, and that means really.
Use also taken on two mono mics (vocals, spoken voice, acoustic guitar, bass, bass), and it's natural it sounds.
Not really made for electric guitars, drums or drum. But it provides overhead, and any acoustic instrument is wonderful.
