UTILIZATION

It compiles three models of 1176: A revision, revision E and 176.
It takes the compression circuit Rev.A (called Blue Stripe), the class A circuit and the Rev. transformers (called LN) and ratio of 176 (2:1 / 4:1 / 8:1 / 20: 1).
Two knobs IN & OUT, the ratio of 4 switch with new combinations (including the famous BUTTON ALL) and the two knobs and Rel Att.
More OFF switch 4 / 4 / 8 / GR for lighting and display of Vu.
The 'Bypass Compression is achieved by de-selecting all the swith ratio.
A great novelty on the attack mode OFF (former bypass) is replaced by a SLOW mode ATT (10ms), which offers new possibilities to the machine. Perfect for vocals, bass and any other source that is to be crushed without losing attack.
The manual is very comprehensive.

SOUND QUALITY

No need to present a standard.
This version is more 'sexy' than the LN simple, thanks to the transformers that give it a color close to the originals.
And with a big + + + for the slow attack mode.
I used it on vocals, bass, acoustic guitar and Electric ... a bomb.

OVERALL OPINION

In test two weeks since ... I keep it.
I like the 1176 vintage more than the LN but not the breath of old.
I have a Phoenix, Germ Comp 2 and it perfectly complements the rack.
