They're pretty light and very comfortable.. unfortunately they don't have the "mute switch" as the k-271 studio that mutes the audio when taking them off (especially good for studio recording where you eliminate possible and unwanted noise from other sets of connected headphones sounding into the mic)

here's a good one: unfortunately mine broke after 19 years of good and heavy use yes, this is right: this one set of headphones has been in my family for 19 years without any issues. my father bought it for home use, i used it for djing (unfortunately it was the monitor version with 600 ohm impendance, making the sound from the dj mixer very quiet, i'd suggest getting the studio version!) and i have used it to check my panning etc. when producing what happened was that the audiocable got ripped out of place by a mistake (it was a very hard pull, so no cable could have survived this), otherwise they'd probably still be working for another 19 years

well, they have served me very well over the last 19 years, so i was about to get myself another pair, but eventually today i ordered the akg k 271 studio model, which will hopefully be as loyal as the 240
