here is two weeks I use this headset. acqurir before, I had a sony mdr 7506. I must say that these headphones sound good but the best for me, is the dfinitivement beyerdynamic. Why? nas not a "pro" in headphones, I'll try to say what I find better compared to sony.
- Robustness: when beyerdynamic is in our hands, and following a inspection, it says it can not hurt headset before storing DTRE KO
- Qualities of finishing: what about has it's assembled nikel and there is no false note.
- Weight: 5 hours of work with non-stop, and my head does not suffer. It leaves almost forget this. (FYI, I have short hair)
The ears do not suffer, and that's very good. (A note of all the same beyer is open and the sony is closed the comfort point of view, is not the same).
- I do not nattribue note of ten, because the velvet beyer around the ears is "hot" and make my ears sweat.
Turning now to the sound: all just very high (145 euro entry range).
- The treble and bass are very well restitus. the sound is clear and limpid for acute, severe down the very bottom frquence.
- The spatialization of this headset is impressive, better than the sony.
- THE BIG STRONG POINT: are you listening with beyer, will be the same on your speakers ... The neutrality of this headset is excellent and sounds "real". No need to change the headphone rglages was pregnant. Rsultat: Time to win and above all listening right.
- The sound is clear: reverbs are experienced and above all it costs them lengths, delay too. EQ, compression, spatial ... for me, it's a real monitoring headphones.
In conclusion:
Possder this headphone is to keep it. For this price, the qualities and sound hats. I think the 7506 is good too, but tired ears long (you'll say normal headphones close), but above all, does not return the "real" sound. So I am convinced by what has beyer for these velvet atrium (which must be pleasant in winter certainly ...)
PS: if you opt for the version 250 ohms, I would RECOMMENDED a small amplifier.

I used it for mixing, but the spectrum is a bit strange in the lower midrange - serious, so I now use the DT880 for mixing. But it is quite possible to make a good mix with paying attention! In contrast to the listening pleasure this headphone is pure bliss, it is soft but precise, the bass is soft and airy I love it!

It's been a while since I have this headset and it never disappoints me when I needed him.
I speak of 32ohms version and not the 250 and this is important because it makes it more versatile. Actually it can connect just anywhere due to its low impedance. But be careful because its sensitivity is not better, so the gain is not huge either.
I find his side a little better than 250ohms version, is it the better because of smaller production series? can be! Otherwise overall it's the same.
And for the comfort side of Beyer is bah, no complaints, must see!
Its price a little higher is not necessarily justified, according to the view uses.
Rating: 9/10 deserved.

I use it almost daily for almost 1 year, and I think I will ever choose this without hesitation.
Comparing with other high end headphones, the DT 990 Pro is truly the most comfortable and gives a high sound quality, very accurate at all frequencies. When listening to a good mix, the headphone becomes important because it helps distinguish each instrument in a clear and pleasant.

The downside now.
Before choosing this headset for mixing know one thing, you may be surprised or disappointed when you listen to your mix in other audio systems. This headphone is a very good control system, but you can quickly mix with misleading. I noticed on many mix that I could do for me, the mid and high frequencies were over-represented with an even greater effect on the treble.
Let me explain: when mixing, all goes well, the frequency ranges are all well represented and we soon reached a very gratifying result. This headset works well, but only for listening to this type of headphone. By changing the listening, you will realize that the mix seems muffled, with a strong defect in the treble and a representation of upper mid-range. Missed a mix really.
You only have to change your EQs on monitor speakers good quality and the correct mix and all that that implies.
When you are finished, listen to the new mix on the DT990pro, nothing will have changed, or almost. The mix is ​​always good in the headphone, which is very disturbing. It seems to me that the DT990pro does not respond well in the upper mid-range and even less in the treble. Specifically: add 2dB treble on the headphones and the sound is already very good. If you did not monitor speakers available, you could make a major mistake to mix, because you would need to add 6 dB over the same range of freqs for a natural, not stifled. In other words, dt990pro is not precise in these freqs because it reacts too quickly and too much at first and little beyond a certain threshold amplitude. It flatters the high-mid and treble. It's really hassle then to straighten the mix.
In audiophile, however, it is a real Rolls Royce. But we must know why we buy and what we will do.

I use this headset for over six months, and I can say with hindsight that it was a very wise choice.
I use it daily with my sound card DSP Focusrite Pro 24 (neighbors delicate!), Have tested under all conditions, while traveling in public transport, in short.

The sound quality is just amazing, I still six months after being impressed with this headset that sets the bar very high for the competition. It is remarkably accurate, fair and balanced, the smallest nuances are reproduced with extraordinary fidelity.

Deep bass and clean, to acute sharpness, this headphone is very neutral and is ideal for greater accuracy requirements.

The main downside is its high impedance and low noise isolation, which limits its use to quiet places, with a good sound output power.

Forget the idea immediately mix in the evening with, listen to anything on the plane or in a noisy subway train on an iPod. Even working next to someone who is trying to sleep is not possible, and I speak from experience! The bright side is that you can hold a conversation with someone with the headphone on his head, quite handy!

Finally, a pair of comfortable (you can work for hours without any headache), a sublime sound quality and without comparison in the same price range, but to enjoy it you need a receiver or card worthy of its name and its use is limited to relatively noisy environments.
