fifours's review

By fifours, 10/03/2010
I retest this Superlux HD681 that a friend lent me and so I compared my headphone at the time.
The plays have been done on PC-CD player and receiver with or without headphones.

Technically he announces a frequency band from 10 to 30000Hz, 32ohms Impedance and 98dB efficiency. This means it can run on the headphone output of a PC or other small device mp3.

The noise level it is doing quite well, stamps are not the best but still acceptable, the dynamics are generally good although the bottom of the spectrum is a bit soft, the stereo is acceptable, and Transparency is noticeable.
Pushing a little tapping reveals that the midrange frequencies are a bit garish on high or high-volume, serious and overly resonate on the organ, for example.
on the other hand he keeps an advantage for precision, its definition is very good, see some of my best Beyer or my pro2900 but obviously cheating with high-medium.
This headphone is very well overall for just listening at home, or for musicians in need of pepete, but it is not closed so pay attention to repisse studio, and its lack of neutrality sound mixing in my opinion. It is comfortable without any gene, but its manufacture is very plastic, station breaks.
I still put him 7 / 10 because it is the best value for money I know.

Cheap and it works

By johnhenry69, 12/10/2011
This is a semi-closed headphone showing the physical safety of AKG headphones.
For 20 euros you'll have what looks like a headphone professional.
The HD681 is doing pretty well.

Level Sound: The whole is fairly balanced, we have some bass, a small hollow in the lower midrange and a lot of upper midrange. Actually it does not go very low but this is enough: it is better to be little lower than a lot of synth basses and drooling. To listen to music should be good. For mixing, in addition to a monitor it does its job, it is clear if one is not the ends of the spectrum.

Comfort level is not too bad, we'll even say that it allows itself to be rather good health. Wear it over a half hour dune is however painful for the ear.
The headphones are robust, I walked several times over, I crashed in bags in my luggage and it still works without being (too) damaged.

I am satisfied, for 20 euros I think you will not find anything better.

Absolutely great!

By SlapKid, 14/04/2012
Took his brethren with 662 and 681B for the price ... Have some great headphones available for a while, akg k240studio/k240df, beyerdynamic dt331 and sennheiser hd540 reference. So the serious, and I compare!
The 681 is the hottest / crispy all, and more understandable to film dialogue example.
Guitar (output of multi-effects / amp / console) that is most alive, think fender in the idea. A treat, and are delicious hot mediums.
My reference was previously k240studio for guitars, now I find it less crunchy / harmonic than 681. Less accurate / detailed too.

It is also effective, much as 240df/dt331/hd540 is appreciable when the headphone amplifier embedded in most devices do not row ... Even on a table dj (vmx200usb) is a more sacred.

In short where I really do not understand is the price, especially since it is solid I put all the time last year.
I'd better buy in a while there are!
Quality / price 90/20!
