That’s a new that will please many musiciens using Android smartphones and tablets: they soon will be able to send audio through USB.
The request was made in 2012 to the Google Android Open Source Project and a team has been working on it since September 2013. Last week, the post was updated and it looks like the Android code base now includes USB Audio. You can follow the thread here.
Android users should then soon be able to use their USB Class Audio Compliant devices, including audio interfaces and send audio via USB to their tablet or smartphone, just like on Apple iDevices.
The question is: will the update, which release date was not communicated, also fix the audio issues Android has been facing since the beginning? We’ll see in October maybe…
