Sonnox has released Oxford Envolution, a frequency-dependent envelope shaper with separate transient and sustain sections.

Sonnox presents Envolution, the new transient processor from its Oxford plugin range. Technically, Envolution is a frequency-dependent envelope shaper with separate transient and sustain sections allowing to radically re-shape the envelope of your instruments or audio. Users can choose from a broader tilt mode or the more parametric-style focus mode to select which frequencies are being processed.

Insertes on a track, bus or even master output, Envolution aims at adding presence or distance to drums, piano, guitar and any other percussive content. Sustain can be boosted to make the ambience around a recording bloom, or cut for quick, precise gating.

Of course at extreme settings Envolution can involve a creative side, like using the DIFF button to generate negative ratio compression effects.

Features include:

  • Frequency-dependent control of Transients & Sustain
  • Tilt/parametric targeting of frequencies to process
  • DIFF button to solo the effect
  • Can be used in parallel without phase cancellation problems
  • Warmth control for harmonic saturation/tone shaping and preventing excessive output levels
  • Many presets to get started

Available in AAX Native and DSP formats as well as native AU and VST, the Sonnox Oxford Envolution plugin is available now from Sonnox at an MSRP of £170(Native)/$275(Pro Tools HD/HDX+Native).

As usual with Sonnox products, iLok 2 is required.
