My msaventure the weekend regarding the purchase of a blond Fender 22 W.Et j'm afraid I will not be an isolated case to the views of some forums readings Although I love having stats prcises to judge REALLY nature of the problem: either I have not had to change either the problem is frquent and c is a shame. Fender with tariffs as legend but also sound quality and reliability should justify.

My amp went into service j hope to have a good surprise for his return.

UTILIZATION

Ultra-simple configuration. A manual? FOr what?
In principle, this amp is a dream get crystal clear sounds and fenderiens can also get a good dose of distortion more or less compressed, with all intermediate crunch possibilities ... OVERALL OPINION

IN early 2013, I was in the space of two weeks and 2 Supersonic my adventure with them lasted Altogether 3 weeks!
The first Supersonic:
- A lot of breath (yes, I know a tube amp it blows But there huffs and puffs!.!)
- As soon as you pushed the reverb more than 2, it produced an internal feedback (even unplugged guitar -> it was not a return induced by scratching) obviously transcribed by a huge Larsen on HP that only the extinction of the device could interrupt - microphonics problem, I think.
- Same with the volume of the clean channel: volume above 3-4 amp déjantait and went into monstrous Feedback! exactly thesame problem with the reverb

This amp, a week after purchase, I was therefore exchanged by the vendor.

All happy I get my second Supersonic ... Hahahahaha:
- It was not the wind, but a real tornado on channel 2! Accompanied by snoring + sizzling making this channel unusable
- Same problem internal feedback that the first Supersonic, but this time with the loop! totally unusable since he began to make feedback as soon as the volume effects were no longer connected to 0!
- An explosion sound (I do not not exaggerate the "cluck" more or less strong we hear on some amps!) To change the channel.
- Creaking noises from the clean channel volume 3

Discouraged, I take this second supersonic saying: never Supersonic! But this said with a twinge, because ultimately:

I have read a lot of forums French, American, German and opinions regarding the Supersonic are very mixed, very good but also very many testimonies of troubles with this material.
In principle, this combo is attractive. But it seems to suffer (from what I've read, but it remains to check: what I say is not proof) of a design flaw on the one hand and quality conditions very random production.
I suggest you try a long copy you purchase from every angle in order to uncover any defects. For example: An attempt to do: put the reverb at 5 with a low volume amplification, scratch your guitar, unplug it immediately and simultaneously increase the volume on the amp.
Maybe Will you be one of those buyers who met swear by the Supersonic? This is not my case!
Instead of this super Supersonic, I offered a Egnater Rebel Combo 112 (close enough in my opinion the spirit of Supersonic) and everything works! Owl: it was not my brain that produced internal feedabcks in Fender! hahahahah

Combo 22W lamps (3x12AX7, 2x12AT7, 2x6V6).
1 HP Fender 12 ", effects loop, 2 channels. The clean channel is double and everything is selectable foot (2 clear channels, the drive channel, effects loop and reverb).
The weight is quite reasonable and cover is provided.
Among the regrets: no Master Volume, HP mini 8 ohm output (while the internal HP is already 8 ohms ...) and especially the sloppy construction (see the thickness of the panels behind the lamps and HP for example ...). As for reliability it is grossly inadequate (see overall opinion below).

UTILIZATION

RAS Everything is childish. The manual is not necessary, really can not get any easier. For my part, I put all the knobs at noon to try it and it already sounded ... It remains only to turn a bit the buttons to get everything you want.

SOUNDS

It's very simple, this amp sounds what we do. 2 ultra clean sounds are complementary (although there is a slight increase in the level of the clean channel by engaging the Fat mode).
The 2-band EQ is absolutely not a problem and the range of clean tones is quite impressive. Play Funk? OK. Blues? No problem. Reggae? Without worry. I bet jazz it also works.

As for the Burn channel (saturated so) it has 2 gains waterfall and a 3-band EQ. The hardest? Choose from the available sounds ... You can go to a blues sound becomes clear that the volume of the guitar to sound ultra saturated, very stoner, metal if you want ... anything is possible. Strictly speaking the ultimate metal fans will probably go through an external pedal but I'm not an expert of style.

Anyway I do not put "only" 9/10 because I now a SuperSonic FSR 22 with a Celestion Greenback, which sounds even better!

OVERALL OPINION

The trouble with the SuperSonic, this is not the sound, it's to make it work ...
The construction is really sloppy, but especially electronics is really light. Still happening on the "natural" breath of the amp. While it is light but annoying (hear his tremolo modulation in the loop while the guitar volume is at zero ...)
The most problematic is especially the "POP" to change channel (saturated to light) which is unacceptable ... 2 amps tested 2 different years and the same problem appears. With a delay in the effects loop, it was downright pop in the delay ... Unbearable.
However, I must be lucky, my amp reverb working properly ... Anyway, direct back to the store and finding the presence of the same problems on several SuperSonic in stock, new and used. Fender must ABSOLUTELY react.
In summary, if you want to buy this amp, go for it for the sound, but TRY IT BEFORE YOU ABSOLUTELY!

The tubes in it are 2 6V6 (power) and 3x 12AX7 and 2x 12AT7 for your preamp.

Basically Fender wanted to build and amp that could give your a great fat vintage tone as well as a high gain modern crunch.

I bought this amp locally used for $650, brand new they are $1000. I picked it up because I was looking for a small combo to gig with. This has plenty of power and tone I can live with.

I love the vintage blonde look and the cool knobs. Looks like I'm playing through a vintage amp, but in fact it came off the factory line probably less than 2 years ago.

The tone is great. It is like having a clean amp and 2 dirty amps in one. Classic sounding Fender reverb, not that new digital crap.

Really no way to improve. Maybe a little more power so I can get some more headroom on the clean channel, but that is just me being picky.

I'm always impressed with Fender's build. I believe this is a USA built amp. The blonde finish was applied well and the knobs are easy to move and read.

It's like having a clean amp, a dirty amp, a vintage amp and a modern amp all in one without any kind of fake digital modeling. I love this amp!

UTILIZATION

The setup is so easy for the clean channel: EQ bass and treble EQ. This is the gain (distortion) channel that has the most to work with 2 sound gains to the second compressor remember that anything else. You get what you want easily, not need the manual.

SOUNDS

The sound is very variable on the channel gain (several possibilities) the clean channel is super friendly. The distortion channel is perfect for rock 70's 80's 90's ... beautiful bass emanate from this amplifier. It's warm again (compared to my Traynor YCV 40) but it can be nasiard if we push the treble already present at the base. If we rule around noon and below the clear, fine. Otherwise, ouch ears!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for some time but I do know in amp and it is my amp of choice for my Jaguar with humbuckers ... As the Jazzmaster with single coils going well but I have to cut the tone control on it because the amp delivers such a dose of acute ... The only problem with the amp is too much background hiss his "present" in my opinion. The lights work almost open plan ... they could have better close the rear of the machine. Super simple setup, and all settings sound good.
The manual is zero but the bed? For there are plans against the power amp.

To be honest I changed the HP for a Celestion V30 in the first hours of use, the original HP is very (too) medium and it comes out that vintage sound of the amp. With the change of HP you can play with the EQ to give a vintage or modern coloration to the sound and the clean sounds are still growing.

For the clean channel is Fender's, hyper dynamic even at low volume, beautiful, very far ahead of what I heard. Lens of the normal and fat on fat mode. I use this amp for 6 months and tried many amps before making my choice (booogie mesa, marshall, orange, blackstar, peavey, etc.).. I was looking for a Fender clean sound and a typed channel distortion with a very wide range, all with the opportunity to spend the next vintage of force.

What I like most about this amp is the dynamic clear sound and the combination of two gains of the channel distortion that allows me to cover all styles of music I play.

THEN WHY ONLY 5 / 10?
The less and less what .... it is the breath of the amp without any instrument plugged in and with all the knobs to 0. A real shame for an amp of this price, which tarnishes a balance that would have been perfect. I changed all the lights for WA but without success, the breath is always present.
It seems that some models are quiet, buy the store in order to try it before!

this amp suits all styles of music.

This is the exact same amp as the oxblood over wheat tolex amp. You get the same great features and tone as that, but this is is classic Fender amplifier look. Even the speakers are the same. This one looks obviously more classic with the black tolex and original Fender silver grille cloth. Either way this is a fantastic amp.

The amp have quite a bit of features compared to some of their more vintage styled amps. This one has a fat boost switch and also a reverb to add a bit of depth to the tone. I have spotted this amp out and about for the new price of $1399. That is on the high side of Fender amps especially the deluxe amps.

Having two channels and both are exceptional is a big bonus. I would recommend anyone to go and try this amp if you get the chance. You may or may not like the voicing but it is a solid amplifier.

This is a gorgeous looking amp. The tone alone is enough to get excited about but the coolest looking tolex cover I have seen on any of these amps. The tolex is a sweet looking surf green color and the grille cloth is a wheat brown color. They match up quiet nicely. You get the same great tone and features as the black and silver standard but just a upgraded look.

At new these amps come in at around $999. Not a bad price for the quality and usability of this amp. Having two channels and both are exceptional is a big bonus. I would recommend anyone to go and try this amp if you get the chance. You may or may not like the voicing but it is a solid amplifier.

N'achetz not this amp ... it has a manufacturing defect unexplained at the reverb: microphonics impossible to control.
I see some smart kids who are already responding: did you just change the lights of the reverb. OK
The microphone can be caused by factors plusieus: lamps, lamp holders, electronics failing, ... . So not that easy to determine the cause.
Personally, I bought mine nine which went for repair the day after purchase. Four months later, still not returned from Fender, I received a second that the store had ordered and ... same problem.
Read the forums, I'm not alone.
Annoyed, I bought a Hot Rod Deluxe III: PHENOMENAL, with much more character.

The Fender Super Sonic 22 is a recent addition to their line of Super Sonic amps. These amps are meant to take Fender cleans and pair them with a thick and viscous sounding overdrive channel. The Super Sonic 22 is a smaller combo (1x12 version) that comes in at a very gig friendly and easy to handle 22 watts of power (same as the ever popular Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue.

The amplifier is 22 true tube watts as stated, and is powered by dual 6V6 power tubes. It's got two channels (vintage and burn), separate EQ controls for each channel, an onboard reverb, effects loop, and a single Fender "Lightning Bolt" speaker built/designed by Eminence speakers. The vintage channel (IE: clean) has a switchable mode to go from "normal" mode to a "fat" mode, which takes the sound from the 60s blackface Fender chime (normal) to a much thicker tweed esque Fender growl with more gain and low end (fat). The gain channel is interesting in that it features two cascaded gain controls (gain 1 and gain 2) as opposed to a single master gain control. This allows you to set up more of an old school sort of tone much like the classic Marshall amps sometimes did when they were modified to accept a master volume control, so they'd have dual cascading gains and a master volume.

UTILIZATION

Getting a good tone out of this amplifier was very simple for sure. Most Fender amps are very intuitive and easy to set up and this is no exception. The clean channel is very basic, with just single volume and tone controls and the aforementioned normal/fat mode switch. The normal mode is definitely a much cleaner sound, and if you add in some reverb and use a single coil loaded guitar, it's very jangle-y and crisp, much like a nice Fender blackface or early silverface combo amplifier. The fat mode takes it up a few notches to that much thicker/grittier clean tone that was prominent in some of Fender's tweed amplifiers. This mode is great with a slightly overwound single coil, a P90 or a medium output humbucker for a compressed and gritty clean that is wonderful sounding for bluesier textures.

The drive channel is very thick and booming. It's not a modern sounding smoother gain channel, but rather a more classic sounding, almost fuzz like gain channel that works really well for sludgier sort of tones. The cascading gain controls are nice because you can get a blend of two different gain textures and mix them together for whichever sort of sound suits you. The best comparison I have for the drive channel is basically an older tweed Fender that has been turned up to obscenely hot levels and sounds like it may blow up... it is truly an on the edge sound.

SOUNDS

I've tried this amp with numerous Fender, Gibson and Charvel guitars and each had their own great characteristics that worked very well with the amp. Each mode on the clean channel was very useable and sounded great despite having only two controls to work with. The overdrive channel is definitely geared towards a classic sound. It doesn't have the tightness for modern rock/metal tones I find, but there are other amps out there for that. I suspect that the 6V6 power tubes contribute to this, as I noticed the same sort of thing with the 6V6 loaded Orange Rockerverb 50 that I owned. The EQ controls work very well on the overdrive channel and provide a good round mix of all frequencies. The reverb, though it can be drippy at higher settings is very useable on both channels as well.

OVERALL OPINION

All in all I feel this is a great sounding amp by Fender. It blends vintage and modern voicings together in one package that is topped off with a great Fender reverb, an effects loop, and a very gig/player friendly 22 watt 1x12 package. It reacts well with many different types of guitars with many different pickups, and all of those tones sound good in all the right places. Definitely an awesome buy.

At new these amps come in at around $999. Not a bad price for the quality and usability of this amp. Having two channels and both are exceptional is a big bonus. I would recommend anyone to go and try this amp if you get the chance. You may or may not like the voicing but it is a solid amplifier.

This is one of the very best modern amplifiers that Fender has put out. This is more of a high gain amp for Fender but still keeping the vintage clean tones they are so famous for having. The amp have quite a bit of features compared to some of their more vintage styled amps. This one has a fat boost switch and also a reverb to add a bit of depth to the tone. I would call this a vintage modern amp for Fender.

SOUNDS

I like this amp with all kinds of guitars, but mostly I like it with a Fender Stratocaster or a Charvel San Dimas or Socal. I like the light to medium tone of the ash and alder body woods. This compliments the nature of the amp quite well. The clean is very Fender sparkly and jangly. Then you go to channel two and having two gains is almost heaven. This is something you see on several boutique amplifiers. Suhr amps like the PT100 has a similar thing but theirs acts like another channel. This one just gives you deeper and juicy gain distortion.

OVERALL OPINION

If you need a god clean tone and a hot rod gainy distortion channel then this is your amp. The clean is remarkable and the gain has so much variation with the dual gains that is makes this amp a lot of fun to play.

this is an amp any brand lamps fender.il owns 2x 12AT7, 3x 12AX7 and 2x 6v6.il possesses a single instrument input, but also an effects loop and an output hp (8 ohms) and a taken for footswitch.sa power is 22 watts after a power section based on the legendary deluxe reverb.il owns two channels:
-Channel "vintage" sound with volume control, treble, bass and the "fat".
-Channel "burn" with a gain setting 1, gain 2, bass, treble, mid and gain master.les 1 and 2 add up.
pity it lacks a master and a medium to channel vintage.dommage also that the loop is not adjustable.
and to finish off a pretty cover and a very complete footswifch come with the amp.

SOUNDS

broad topic, the sounds! channel goes from clean vintage style deluxe reverb to crunch.le good "fat" adds a little gain and medium.c is beautiful, precise but lacks a bit of heat to go tease tenors of genre.le crunch is really superb, with a genial good lp or it will burn sg.le channel of the overdrive light (kind TubeScreamer) has the kind disto mesa boogie.avec controls both gain and equalizer truly effective, we get a lot of reverb sons.la just embellish it all but it is a bit too long for my taste.

OVERALL OPINION

this amp is really amazing, far from conventional fender.il accepts pedals very well be it front or in the boucle.de more, I just go in our lamps and the result is beyond my hopes! ! the extra bit of fever has disappeared and the slight lack of heat also!
remains to know what is the speaker but I think a greenback or vintage 30 would make the distortion even more beautiful ....
