«  The AMP THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR ... »

Published on 09/24/12 at 04:03
ALL LAMP 15 WATTS 2 CHANNEL LIGHT AND OVERDRIVE. + reverb effects loop.

UTILIZATION

VERY OFTEN AS SET ULTRA SIMPLE, plug it up the sound is adjusted slightly so very simple, and it sounds ...

Ideal for playing at home and in AS group. As part of a group that plays hard, maybe if you can, connect to a good external speaker, which automatically disconnects the hp.

SOUNDS

Ultra versatile amp except the extreme (pedal provide the trash, but it is not the target of this amp, although it is possible, no doubt ...)
Clear sound to fall, which looks very much like the Fender Princeton Reverb reissue gorgeous (as I have elsewhere), a bit thinner in the notes that the princeton (which still costs three times). They also share the same hp Excellent 10 inch jensen alnico.
We play some really clear on that channel all styles (blues, jazz, rock, country, ballad, funk, ... reaggae short while, given the quality of the light.

For comparison, I have a mesa Boogie Mark IV, a Peavey Classic 50, a fender field xp, a Fender Princeton, and well made by Princeton, he sounds better in natural light through its dynamic and that all small world, where the tariff for some has no common measure ...
He really respects the sound of each guitar. It is rare that amp will sound each instrument (Les Paul, Strat, tele, sg, half box etc. ..) with the same quality and also respectful way.

Saturation is as beautiful, it allows the game to the volume on the guitar to spend a beautiful rich and full saturation of harmonic crystal clear sound, through the wonderful crunch, really terrible ...
When I look back on the Mark IV (in my studio), I'm pretty confused at the beginning as the sound of the mesa seems to me more natural and less inflated on the mids (great amp anyway ....). Well we get on the mesa saturations much thicker and typed seen the power, but the Laney is .... natural for my taste. Attention saturation level to its max will not gigantic. For the big gain, will boost some desirable (but not necessarily necessary ...)

With this amp, the guitar makes sound, it will follow you wherever you go. This is not always the case with other gear will require guitarist adapts to the amp, then this is the amp that adapts to scratch.

The reverb sounds great, really well thought out amp.
I have not yet tested the effects loop "by pass" which is adjustable on 2 bd position 0, + 10 db.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this amp for 1 month, suddenly, I am selling my MESA MARK IV ... and the small fender Champ xp .... true, especially since I do not need much power.
My revelation ... it allows me to sound like every guitarist I try to imitate just touched without torture with tons of settings.
Oh I forgot, it is really affordable price level. Top value for money good finish. I would not be surprised to learn that many pros use in the studio or on stage (with fallback to front).

No, I do not work at Laney, I did not even know these amps a month ago.
I tested it in a shop in Paris on the advice of a friend, I went direct with ...
Deserves to be tried.

With this amp, plug, play, and we are pleased to make it sound good guitars.

Yes, I would do this choice ...

Good zic all.
