«  The ultimate home amp »

Published on 12/04/12 at 07:40
3 in ECC83 ECC82 preamp and power 2 1w issuing the cleat, tamable (1w home that tape) through a switch at the rear 0.1W
2 channels with footswicht, gain for each MV +, Eq TMB common, deep switch (adds body at low frequencies, perfect for a strat or tele) and tone shift (cutting mediums, not a fan ...)
At the rear, an output hp 8/16 ohms, fx loop in and out, footswich connection, line out with simu hp, switch 0.1W

UTILIZATION

The config is very simple, RAS that side

SOUNDS

Channel clear: it is a true clear channel, which cranked crunch does not tjs with a strat. This is a nice clear sound, not too round or too Cristalin, and good food pedals that I glue: wha, compressor and clean boost

Saturated channel: (too much?) Gain, I do not spend half. Moreover, beyond the sound tends to crash a bit. But who can do more can do less if you stay in the first half, it's really good.
We begin with a very dynamic light crunch (with a Tele bridge pickup is a treat, very 70's) to the large distortion. Passing from one to the other sound compression gain what he loses in dynamic, classic.

Volume level situations with 0.1W and MV, you can play any level from 0 to 1w, uncompromising sound. Even 0.1W it remains excellent.
And for concerts?
I put one of EH 22 Caliber (power amp pedal size) between the send of the loop and the baffle, the fact that it is!

OVERALL OPINION

I have extensively tested the JTM1 I owned and sold the JMP1, I am JCM1 and DSL1, I am seriously considering selling the JCM1 to keep only the DSL through its versatility and extensive connection and of course its great sound.
For 2 months I played I did almost more than he
More than 600 € for a head 1w it is indeed a fact, but if you think 2 times, it is much more usable house a big amp that is often clamp and that costs usually more expensive .
Conclusion: do not judge the price of an amp w as it delivers, but according to the pleasure you will reap in its context of use.
In this perspective, the € 600 DSL1 this is money well spent
