Preamp MIDI-lamps, 3 types of sounds: clean, drive, distortion.
A lot of tuning very much effective and influential on the sound, which does not make this preamp easy to adjust, but once you get the sound just save it in the bank and it does not touch anything!
UTILIZATION
The setup is fairly simple, it has all the usual range of settings with the exception of 2 wheels for mediums: a general parametric + 1, thereby sculpt the sound with diabolical precision.
Special mention for the mini wheel "input drive" to adjust the overall gain so that they do not have to modify the presets that you play on the tube gear or a combo, useful if one uses this preamp as a solution "nomad."
SOUNDS
This preamp excels in his big fat rock well to metal, without reaching the extreme metal as it gets a bit too rough, but the saturation range is perfectly sufficient for 95% of guitarists, for now I n 'I found nothing that sounds better than this preamp and even by getting into the gear costing 2 or 3 times its price (ADA, Marshall, Soldano, etc. ...).
I plug it into the loop of a Peavey Triple X head, accompanied by a multi Boss, which I Parmet enjoy MIDI and programmable capabilities of the set, the sound is huge! guitars: Washburn N4, Ty Tabor RGX Yamaha, Lag Roxanne Bédarieux Strat, Tele ...
3 tones: clean crunch that I do that because I think it sounds a bit flat, I prefer to use a simulator on my Fender Twin multi crystalline cleans to get this channel for me is the weak point preamp,
Drive 1 (distortion) for drives and solid singing, a little vintage but with a good definition, we get sounds ranging from AC / DC Maiden to give a token,
Drive 2 which adds a boost to Drive, there is a big pat on the spot that Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth are at your fingertips, always with that little old school super nice side, ie a lot of fat and heat in sound and good definition provided they do not put all the knobs to max (the famous drive input in particular)
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 3 years and it will remain my big config for many years.
The value for money on occasion in my opinion is unbeatable for such quality.
I do it again this election 20 times if necessary, also a glitch if I happened on this preamp, I'll buy another for sure.
