Orange Tree Samples has released Lap Steel Guitar, a new sample library for Kontakt.
It features around a gigabyte of samples, with three dynamics and four round-robin samples for each chromatically-sampled string—making a total of about 2,000 samples.
Lap Steel Guitar’s slides use timbre-corrected bending, designed to preserve the natural tone of the notes during bends and vibrato. These slides will also recreate how strings are re-excited when the slide moves on the strings, lengthening the sustain. Lap Steel Guitar can bend the strings independently using a variety of bend modes, and also allows you to set the bend range to conform to a specific key/scale.
Lap Steel Guitar includes five stereo cabinet impulses as well as spring reverb, tremolo, chorus, and other effects. All the effects and performance settings can be stored in external preset files.
Lap Steel Guitar’s key features include:

Pricing: $79. There is an introductory price of $49 until July 31st, 2012.
