Jordantron, Jordan Rudess’ Wizdom Music new instrument for iPad, gives you access to the artist’s sound library.
Dream Theater’s keyboardist Jordan Rudess, in collaboration with UK Mellotron specialist Omenie, compiled 940MB of samples within 57 stereo instruments, which are organized in different categories (velocity-sensitive, leads, orchestral/choral, pads and strings). Each instrument was sampled on 4 octaves but with the transpose feature you can expand them to 6.
Jordantron features multiple controls to vary the sounds, including a Half Speed mode, a stereo reverb, 12 programable chord pads and you can setup Jordan-like divebombs on a full octave. 32 Voicebanks are also available to store the settings (instruments, reverb and ABC Blending). Note that you can also control both Tron engines with MIDI keyboards.
The Jordantron GUI displays a virtual keyboard as well as the Oscillotron waveform.
The app is compatible with Audiobus 2 and the inter-app audio feature. It is available for $9.99 / 8.99€ at the AppStore.
