a sound engineer in a pedal!

By kris levangelist, 04/04/2011
A pedal for singer equipped effects essential to the practice of singing in groups and in home studio. It's just a pedal, but not edit via pc / mac, no rack

Super easy to use, it plugs the microwave and poof like magic your voice becomes clearer, does better in the mix and suddenly you get tired less has to pass over bawl instruments that not only blame you run out of juice and increases volume discreetly.

I use it for voice but I think to catch all kinds of sounds in AC can also be very interesting. It is equipped with a pre-amp quality equalizer and a simple but very effective.

I have long hesitated to buy it. I wanted something versatile studio / repeated but especially something effective to record my voice without rapidos deal with techniques that only a good mastering sound engineer. So yes, I would do this choice!
Friends singers go ahead buy this little gem over the new version is available but more expensive ...

Everything has been said on this subject, it is a magical boiboite can highlight the song.

The configuration is simple for me: yet I have used the mode "Full Auto")

My feedback will be interesting for category of people.
Let me explain: 5 years ago I climbed a rock band with my sister. We are both lead singers (I'm more rhythm guitarist and keyboardist), but our voices are different, including power issue.
In the middle of 2 guitars, bass, drums and keyboards, my sister has always struggled to be heard (it's a unanimous return to the public).
Last weekend was his birthday, and we offered this pedal. We therefore tested in the repeat that followed.
The word that we all came directly: MAGIC. We had never heard her sing as clearly, even on pieces very pêchus.
It's simple: the song is simply put forward, the lyrics are intelligible (finally). In short, that's all we wanted.

Curious, I also tried it in the end again.
My conclusion: I just bought a hand for me too.
I did not hurt me to hear in normal group, but this pedal gives me comfort. I no longer need to force my song on the big rock, I control much better my voice effects. I get along better, simply.

We found this toy last weekend, so I'm not a big drop when its use. But he made us very strong impression.

My overall opinion is that it will greatly simplify our task repeats and coffee / concerts (for the live big, we have a sound engineer who works very well voice). Plugged into our mixer set on a slice "while at noon," the song sounds directly, without need for adjustment, which is pretty cool!

Small negative points:
- The environment tends to move into the microphone in addition to singing. A small adjustment of the compressor will probably do.
- Pitch correction is not really usable in our case. It prevents certain nuances of singing. We certainly will not use it (it's no big deal, just sing when we hear it!: P)

Compressor, de-esser, EQ and pitch correction. (See website for info).

The effects pedals which makes the singer trs good job.

Getting started is simple, résumé: It is all automatic rglages in and go!

The rglage manual EQ is a little dangerous and it was quick to cut a frquence was needed (for me).

The manual is clear in one hour we made the turn.

The unit leaves a clean and correct configuration as "Live" in recording.

It must cost the pitch correction and de-esser, because depending on the situation (eg a local small), we must spend time to rgler.

The sound is neutral, I would not say that it is best camera on every point but I would say against it is the least bad at all and it is compared qualitprix trs correct.

The size is that I think AIM intgre power in case.

There is no button on / off on the case.

I dja essay from the other AVP-1 Antares.

I remake the choice of voice tone correct because it is versatile trs.

Not very practical to take the lead

As said before, it's a EQ / compressor de-esser + + pitch corrector
Overall, it serves to make the voice more clearly in a mix or live without (too) are known. In pedal, because when we sing, we do not have time to regulate his strip, while there, you can activate an effective equalizer (I will return) by a subtle and gentle pressure metatarsal!
No publisher PC or Mac, XLR connectors for input and output, power supply provided

Config simple, especially if you just leave everything on autopilot (and already like that, it sounds).
The manual is slightly larger but much information is anyway not very complicated to take his first steps.
Personally, I connect, I press ON and let it all set. It could not be simpler, right?

No effect per se, but a sound processing that will play on the rendering of your voice. This will become clearer and more intelligible. The effect is not conclusive (the audience does not suspect anything actually), but the song comes out much better.
I use the de-esser, which does not introduce artifacts in the settings I used (not extreme)
Attention to pitch corrector really makes his job: whether to have a vocal line quite related, with links between notes and arrived rather "soft" or notes lying around (typically as in blues), the controller induces a disruptive (audible discontinuities)

I use for many years. I use it in rehearsal to get out of the mix better with my little SM58. The craft goes back much quality and level, the voice becomes clearer really, it means better, need to mount the volume (our ears say thank you) and suddenly, it gives more confidence badly when singing.
I used it plugged into my EAR, or on a console, it works as well.

It's a bit expensive but worth it if you sing regularly without sound engineer.

As default, well it's not very customizable, but it's a little reason for the correction (better song without touching anything, almost)
Pay special attention to shape and compress settings when you want to do it yourself: Depending on the configuration of your local, it can generate feedback. But again, we learn by using, not a serious problem.

There's no real equivalent to this correction it seems to me to buy stuff from heavy and dive into the documentation and testing.
So, for lazy people like me (or those who are more interested in the result by the hacker approach), Correct it does, and rather well.
