I have this mini keyboard controller for four months. My first choice was an Akai MPD-16. Finally I chose the microKONTROL because it is much more versatile, even if the pads are not as good.

Strengths:
- Highly configurable, you can send a control where you want, what the intended as well to control equipment that harware software,
- Light and not very large,
- Everything is programmable without the help of a computer and quite friendly.

Weaknesses:
- The pads do not stay lit when activated Toggle mode,
- The race is quite cumbersome rotating, in fact you have to spend almost two laps to the minimum value to maximum (may be, as the previous point, fixed by an update from Korg)
- No ability to send notes USB and Midi, but this may be due to the fact that the microKONTROL can also serve as a MIDI interface.

The keyboard is what it is, but I'm not a pianist.
