«  Ultra-musical »

Published on 10/23/14 at 09:12
Value For Money : Excellent
console 24, 32 or 40 channels with 4 stereo; 8 lobe auxilliary, 8 subgroups; semi-parametric EQ on the low and high-mids and shelve the bass and treble;
Output MRL (left Middle Right)
XLR and jack input, insert stereo jack (hence asymmetric), low cut at 80 hz, phase, pad and input trim, classic what!
2 additional stereo inputs but simplified version

UTILIZATION

she took over in 2 seconds, the knob have colors, much like a nice toy ... very easy to navigate!

SOUNDS

the console is very transparent, preamps are very dynamic, but you have to get into it to sound warm (as full of English consoles) or the sound is quite smooth and classic example, it works very well! (Radio Classic used the CS8 to save lives, and The House of the Radio Interface using the same brand as the classic ... QED)
the equalizer, despite its simplicity is a marvel; it is an instrument in its own right that will colorize the sound, the sublime and as with all the DDA (I also have a DDA Interface), once you have tasted this equalizer, we will find other consoles quite insipid except of course the Midas! (DDA had been bought by Midas and EQ of Venice have been built upon the interface and CS8)
there is absolutely no wind, it really is a great console even very quiet at high level
this console is great to deal with drums, synths, bass, the big sound dreamed cheap ...

OVERALL OPINION

4 years of use, I have to redeem myself to build a 60-channel (with the bus link to the back of the console);
she is very beautiful, impressive, effective, musical, she buries all consoles of the same ilk market (with some successful models);
it was costing for a new 32-way 500 000 francs, ie 75,000 euros, which is the current portion 2,340 euros, as saying that the quality is there!
his only fault was unbalanced inserts on channels and subgroups and the lack of low-cut adjustable;
so if you want an analog is a DDA or Midas for you: there are only these two brands can build an equalizer (with SSL and Neve course)!
Even consoles back Arena and Forum are equipped with a highly musical EQ, as well as CS3, and of course the Q and Q2, which are renowned for their correction;
Finally, the high-end home DDA are: Arena (400 pounds with the fly ... which was a console scene) and the DMR found that almost 12 was the only studio brand console;
