UTILIZATION

The general use is very easy and intuitive. The system bus is fast enough.

The backlit display is very useful on stage.

The chord "ez compoz" does not grids interesting for my taste (lots of blues) can be put against by the agreements sound choices and even compose an entire song (song mode). Well of course the machine is not really made for that so usability suffers, but taking the time we get out.

Shortcuts are easily paramettrables (20 banks of four sounds assignable trigger and push). I does not edit the sounds as those proposed suit me just fine, so I can not say anything about it.

The manual is very ehxaustif.

Also new from the DR 770: tap tempo: and it is also very practical

There, I put 9 because there are little things that bother me: in edit mode, if I rajoutte measures the battery goes! And that's very strange. I am compelled to cheat. Bug youth? Design error?

SOUNDS

Sounds are monstrous !!!!! But also, and perhaps most important: the grooves. The truth is not hard to sample a battery ... but to make it groove, that's another matter.

Hey there, hat. I had 770 before the dr (I sell for that matter), and I can see that the grooves have evolved damn. Not impossible to find a pattern that matches a piece or component. The highlight is the binary (really bad) and the weak point is jazz and tangos / passos. The blues shuffle them are really well (after all Bécanne is thought to scratch and it shows, especially in the tones available from office).

I have not heard of jazz that I really do kiffer (perhaps Ketron SD-1?) Anyway.

The bass sounds are very good and they are really drum grooves. Ideal for working turn your funk / soul.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it a few days ago and I have gifts for the New Year's Eve gig. It was great, I enjoyed myself so much and my bass player did not (too) suffer playing with a box, which is very good sign. I almost fully control.

What I like most: the grooves and ergonomics.
The least: you can not add fill-in real-time pattern of the factory. (On the 770 can!)
The price / quality ratio is good in my opinion. Paid € 449. I probably do it again this election but I confess I do not know the products from the competition (there are there only one?).

I will update.

January 30, 2005

Already one month of intensive use on stage and programming. It really is a fabulous Bécanne. Access to the program allows a great ease of use. On reflection, it's a shame there is not a small EQ (3 bands) internally.

Otherwise the sounds rock and funk / soul are monstrous. The patterns used jazz (passables. .. except for jazz brushes are nice, kind Fever.), But really below the rest.
One last really great stuff, the choice of kit. The same groove with a rhythmic "studio" or "funk" exchange completely. It's so easy to create a patern and find a kit that sounds.
I have no regrets, it's a really good buy if you are looking for effective groove.
