Fairlight has updated its audio digital processing engine and unveils today the CC-2 PCIe card.
Just like the CC-1, the CC-2 is based on the Fairlight Crystal Core technology, but unlike the first version, the manufacturer abandoned the DSP processing technology for the new FPGA.
The CC-2 is designed for broadcasters, TV and post-production studios where large amounts of channels are required and surround audio is commonly used (the card supports Dolby Atmos, DTS MDA and NHK 22.2 formats), with 100 inputs and more than 100 output buses (1000 virtual playback channels).
The CC-2 operates at 64-bit, and offers advanced features such as delay compensation or ultra fast bounce. Users can benefit from various processors, including EQ, dynamics, plug-ins and inserts on both inputs and outputs.
Fairlight adds that the CC-1 users won’t need to replace their hardware, for the new version of the PCIe card is compatible with older systems, wether manufactured by the Fairlight or third-party brands.
