This notice will be rather a comparison of two nearly identical products.
I do not address the parties rhythm and looper, which I do not use it, preferring to save on PC and use backing tracks.
Zoom the G3X is the G3 with an expression pedal more.
Note the original firmware version 2.
Characteristics have nothing original and comply "standards" market.
UTILIZATION
As the Boss ME25 logic is simple to use.
However, finding an effect is not very practical.
The display is made by logos and without numbers, such as sequential display is you never know where we are in the list, sorry.
on the other hand, once found good effect settings for each effect is very simple and much more readable than the Boss.
At the start of display is curiously the publishing of the current patch. It would be best to arrive directly on the selection mode patch, as the Boss.
Please note a on / off button missing on the Boss ME25!
SOUND QUALITY
The sound quality is the first argument that research.
The pedal is connected to a Yamaha sound Stagepas 500, so a more neutral sound.
The guitar a strat 50s.
There he are no picture Zoom the G3X is much better than the Boss ME 25.
The reverb is remarkable. Associated with some amp simulation somewhat retro though successful as we find happiness in music "Shadows" for more modern sounds.
One disappointment, acoustic simulation, which simulates mainly the rope frieze.
With the Boss ME 25 I never got to balance the power between bass and treble, the G string always sounded too loud. more there was a lot of high frequency harmonics, sort of larsène.
Zoom on the balance is perfect, the sound much purer, better balanced, better filtered.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a month, not enough to make a reliable opinion, some would say. (The Boss for 3 years)
I do not like the selection effects, see above, but it does not change every day.
The sound quality is by far the highlight of the Zoom G3 or G3X.
The manufacturing quality is comparable to the Boss, I also found more attractive.
Taking into account the quality / price ratio the Zoom G3 is the right choice and deserves 9/10.
Which serves the Boss ME 25 somewhat a victim of this opinion, this is probably a design and a processor older.
