« Epiphone Hummingbird »

I bought this guitar with the sunburst finish. It is a dreadnought, so it has a bigger body, and it is not a cutaway. The top is solid Sitka spruce and the sides are mahogany laminate. The custom hummingbird pick guard is a beautiful touch. I had been playing electric guitar for about 5 years, but this was my first acoustic guitar. I use it mostly just for writing songs in my basement.

I bought this item from Guitar center for $350.

I love the dreadnought body. I like to sing while I play, so the projection of the larger body is nice. It also has really good tuning pegs, so it stays in tune fairly well considering its price. This guitar also has a slightly slimmer neck than most acoustics, which makes it more comfortable and easier to play.

One of the things I don't like about this guitar is the fact that it isn't a cutaway body. The upper frets can be kind of challenging to reach and awkward to play.

Epiphone is considered the 'knockoff' brand of Gibson. However, apart from using different materials, the construction of the guitar is comparable to the quality of many high end acoustic guitars that Gibson produces.

Overall, this is a great acoustic guitar for beginners. It sounds great for the money, and it looks just as beautiful. It does not sound as good as many higher end guitars, but I'm willing to bet it will sound better than any other guitars in the same price range.
