Excellent
I buy to use it in sync with my D1600 ...
Basically I wished to gain a few simultaneous input recording in addition to the D1600 8, and for that, since my pc is sequencer via midi sync with the D1600 ca me win either 2 or 4 inputs and more , celon cases: 10 or 12 instead of 8 ... a little better ... (Especially for the price I have seen a laptop, it goes, whatever ...). Voila, that's for reasons that motivated me to buy a sound card. And also, and mostly because the sound card on my laptop between his mic and headphone silent old and rotten
In fact I look at value for money and also because it is the only firewire card out who owned 2in noon (I needed an in / out MIDI sync with the D1600 and PC and another to connect a MIDI keyboard and / or DDRUM4 to use my PC as a sound module, among others) ...
As against the RCA inputs, I do not like too ...
The sound is good and powerful but a little too acute (severe lack of) compared to D1600 (ie ca derrange me sometimes when I mix the same piece of PC and D1600 faith, if only it is perfect, too when I only have 1 or 2 inputs max record I put sometimes the D1600 and then the cot, the vital con dtail but still means a tiny little bit: I do not listen Never on a cd or D1600 chain but only by the PC since I carte.Les the A / DD / A are very good my taste, but this lack of serious ... The noise level is terrible ).
But it must be Dirr ... it's a bit much, even when expensive for what it is. But good as Fairris with a laptop in this case (unless you buy a tower and reppartir zero) ... firewire and more they abuse the price ...
UTILIZATION
Installing in minutes, no compatibility problems (at least on pc because apparently that's not it on mac), ultra simple configuration, the manual is sufficient.

GETTING STARTED
Almost imperceptible latency, I am 8 ms is the one where I get the best record ... (4 ms That's not for me ...).
I use 2 sim runs without problem, I try not record more, I hope I can go up to 4 tracks rec sim spar on 4 tracks but not on ... see ...
Read no problem with more than 8 tracks, for now ... (with Cubase SX and Cubase).
Small problem: sometimes it crashes and makes me an old sound that breaks the sound, so I have to turn on the card ... ca the fact especially when it is turned on and remain inactive for a few tens of minutes ...
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for four months.
Report quality discount from its competitors ... but still too expensive for what it is.
To this day I do not referrer this choice because I have other projects that demmande more demanding on the gear, and more and I think it's too expensive! For the price of keeping my j'aurrais thunnes and save for better ... but otherwise I recognize that I Utille powerful enough and that it can be for many people ...
