We must not lie, what motivated my choice for this card is first prize. After losing a lot of time with a usb sound card (audio clicks), I came across this as a very good solution firewire. I regret that choice at all when the latency and quality of sampling.

UTILIZATION

Incompatibility problem with the installation of XP with a card Midiman 4x4 m-audio as soon settled ... after updating the drivers 2. Otherwise, installation is easy and completely detailed in the manual.

GETTING STARTED

I went with a sound card 6 inputs (emi 6 / 2) to a map 2 inputs (not counting the digital inputs ...). I expect now a mixing desk that I ordered the coup.
The handling of the card is very fast, but a small point of detail is very unpleasant: the driver detects the sampling frequency of the software that uses it. Lack of pot, Cubase 2.0, Cubase detects the frequency of the sound card. Morality, after an error message, I find myself to be sampled at a frequency of 22,050 ... rotten. We must start another program to change the féquence.
I work with headphones akg 240m, not the slightest trace of a blow to the output. Perfect for my use.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 months, and apart from this history to determine the frequency, I have had no problems. I like the bcp qulité sampling, and waste outputs. For the price, it's not worth going to look further. The cards came into usb multi disappointed me greatly. With this one, one bump at 96 kHz and no bronchus. Everything is stable.
I'm waiting for a table Soundcraft Compact 10 mixer output with assignable button on an output enregistrment. Basically, for the home studio is a really good sampler. 4 output is fine for what is virtual instrument.
Go ahead, go for it ...
