«  Among the best Fuzz market »

Published on 01/16/13 at 04:07
Germanium Fuzz pedal carefully repeating the pattern of legendary FUZZFACE, manufactured according to the scheme of the 60s ... I was not good ... then we will trust them ... (Dixit their site ...)
My model is the AC128, which is the "Hendrix" ... It's true bypass, so the effect is not switched colors not sound.
The features are very simple Input / Output Volume / Fuzz ... That's it ... As in the 60's ...
Warning very important point, only works Pile, Germanium oblige.
I read here and there that it was recommended to use a carbon zinc battery, so I reported here ... I have not tested, it is not the type of batteries found in Monop the corner ...

UTILIZATION

There are only two buttons ... Volume and Fuzz, so use level is not much to report ... Si .. Avoid mittens ... otherwise it RAS ...
It is of course vintage ... at the time that we had to edit ... patching ... save ... to have multi multi effects ... we wanted to make the least possible buttons ... Then the Red Fuzz copy her big sister ... 2 buttons, and that's fine ...

SOUND QUALITY

I play a strat reissue 62 and a Marshall JVM 410H or JTM1. It sounds really Fuzz Vintage is very fat and heavy, but it remains accurate.
It is in the register Benrod ad ... Back to the 60's. Not to say ... Back to Hendrix But it is still the idea watermark ...
Fuzz setting allows you to play more or less the thickness of the effect, but I must admit that below 75% (or 15 hours), I find that it loses too much for it to be usable .. . And 50% below the frieze ca weird ... While between 75% and 100% is the nirvana (not the band! Kif!), Big round ... ca drool as necessary and sends ca very heavy! On single coils is any expression of the Fuzz, and that is what should be the Fuzz in the sense that I've always heard!
Volume adjustment brings more nuance (always with the gain above 75%), it balances the volume of the amp. So if I want to go out on a solo mix for example, I put in 65% (around 13h), if I want it to be at the same level so I put it at 40% (around 9am) and then j ' I just grain Fuzz ... it is not to be perfect above my original signal.
Really cool setting also put everything thoroughly, and lower the volume level of the guitar ... And there is yet another sound perspective that opens to us ... It has all the warmth of the pedal, without the large output level is exhilarating! and then we just "open" button with the guitar and to share the good fat distortion Fuzz!
I love it!
However I tested with a Gibson LP Classic (always the same amps), and here I am less convinced ... It is less accurate, and ca drooling, but not in the good sense ... But I'm not too stressed with this guitar ... So to test if you play humbucking ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than 4 years, bought and sold, and missed, then bought, and never separate me ..
I have long played a Fuzz Factory, which is funny when you're 16 years old and many buttons on the figure on the pedal, but I've never managed to make it sound ... it sounds too modern (but at the same time, this is for!), I also tested 2/3 other fuzz (Boss, Mxr, Digitech, Metal Muff and others ...), and I confess n ' have never been filled with the Red Fuzz.
Hard to find fault, even the battery that may put at first, especially for those who brancheraient on a pedal board, but I saw that changes every six months, it does not really bother ... (And I use quite intensive!).
This pedal is in my set, and do not move for a while longer and longer!
Used for € 80 ... What are you doing still reading this test instead of going to buy one!!

For me the best Fuzz market (manufacturing and French!)
