«  Little known but very intuitive »

Published on 06/23/14 at 09:58
Installation is very simple and does not require complex configuration.
MIDI drivers are quickly recognized but access to menus is a bit "surprising" because the menu is very light (eg, access to MIDI preferences = Button [studio] -> Devices -> Options). Apart from the doc in English, the software recognizes GM, General Midi 2 standards and in fact, can record changes in bank (it is even possible to make its own Maps).
For my part, I use it with an old Technics KN6000 (standard sound: NX) and all goes well.

The manual is sometimes insufficient, but the developer is only to do it all: as such, it is a feat! after there is a quite responsive forum.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The software works well on the following configuration:
- Windows 7 x64 home
- 4 GB of RAM
- Intel QuadCore CPU Q8300 2.5 GHz
- Microsoft Rating 5.1
- Cable MIDI / USB adapter UNO 1-1

OVERALL OPINION

I'm not very demanding but after various tests (Anvil Studio which was promising, FL Studio, Presonus Studio One), I selected MTS because it seemed more intuitive (I come from the world Atari ST / Sequencer 24) inexpensive for personal use.
I need not "think" flight software but immerse myself in my composition: MTS is sober, simple, logical and light.

Just add a track (MIDI or Audio but also 'Click Track' for the metronome) and then play. The MTS7 software (yes, I'm talking about version 7.6) records the information. By clicking on [edit] to the right of the recorded track is accessed from other functions to select the notes and apply a quantization example.
There is no loop but the software offers "patterns" (for example rhythm) and a function [repeat] to copy / paste a sequence N times.
Although it is possible to use VST, you can not use VST Midi / Midi (eg BlueArp arpeggiator), which is a shame.

The demo version is limited to 3 tracks in particular.
