What is compression?
> The compression reduces the high input levels and increases the lowest levels. It also adjusts the attack and sustain.
Therefore the dynamic sound is reduced, and the dynamics of play increased.
In clean / crunch adds punch here, a percussive side.
With distortion, here smooth mostly.

The opposite of the principle is the expander.
A limiter is not too far from a compressor in the sense that it supprimme peaks of high levels (but not touching the attack or the sustain)

Milk Box: compressor pedal in Dod.

4 controls:
- Level: output volume
- Compress: compression ratio
- Hi exp: tone control based high frequency
- Attack: the attack time of the compression

UTILIZATION

Operation is simple even if it initially unclear where to start.

SOUND QUALITY

Effective result, relatively quiet in the sense that it is a pedal to paufiner his sound. The result will be more obvious for the guitarist for an outer ear.
The sound improves with the addition of the attack (the funky side) and a bit of sustain.

The MilkBox is clearly transparent (unlike the MXR compressor, etc ...) and not dedicated to a sound and style of play

The knob "hi exp" is sympatoche, he adds harmonics without making the high pitched and shrill.

The blast appears as soon as you add compression (knob "compress"), here goes with it is an inevitable consequence. But let's say that a reasonable compression, the compression will be ... reasonable! Noise reduction will still be welcome.

The best record I could find with MilkBox is reflected in the clear, low distortion. Beyond a certain threshold gain, the sound quality generated by box of milk is less affected.

used primarily on rhythmic
tested on head lamps with an H & K mounted Ibanez SH-4

OVERALL OPINION

The -
. sound and milk cémeux I expected did not appear!

the +
. value for money
. ease of use
. sound transparency
I no longer has the pedal to the simple reason that a compressor does not generally my style of play even though the latter improves certain aspects of my sound. Two other reasons for my choice: more breath and location in the pedalboard.
