Electro Harmonix Small Stone (Mk4) Phaser 100% analog.
Power over 9volts battery or mains plug but with the ameriaine a bit boring.
    Between 1/1 output jacks.
True bypass with pretty beefy switch (click makes a big engagement!)
1 Rate knob (speed) 1 switch color.
Pedal quite massive, nice look we adopt it instantly.

    USE

    Nothing easier:
Rate for the speed of phaser, knob allows gradual well be contrler foot also.
The switch supports two color position saying:
up = phaser with acute rsonnance position.
    down = rsonnace serious position.

Big sound with super hot Analog flange defines good and progressive, we will Phaser hovering the Boullie psychedelic dulcore ...

But however well known big problem of the Small Stone:
She eats all your signal, basically I recommend using this pedal in an effects loop, the problem is not even excellent, but live branch she eats everything and position rsonnace acute she blows! ADOPTED kind when you hear you play the oscillation of the phaser afterfact!
Position 2 (severe rsonnance) is particularly Russia, some compare Uni-vibe.

So if you want to fully enjoy this phaser kidding in your effects loop!

    NOTICE GLOBAL

Very good report qualitprix shame it is not more complete!
A Small stone with a mix knob of the effect more rigorous for a second to oscillate between rsonnance severe / acute progressive fawn and this would be the Top!
Why do not they seek to improve the well-known vintage phaser with EH? Enigma ...

Electro-Harmonix Small Clone EH 4600 Full Chorus

    Electro-Harmonix Small Stone Mk4Published on 08/23/03 at 15:00
I got it from a music shop down in london.
    I think it was around £80 ($90-$110).

The "plug and play" type model has a brilliant sounding chorus which is great if you play in a bluesy type band.

The adapter for the pedal probably does'nt exist anymore and wear shoes because the switch does your foot in. You have to screw the bottom open to put the battery in.

Hard, lasted around 30 years, still in production.

Overall, good pedal, good construction and great sound. If you like the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan use's the E.H Small Stone.

    Big old Pedal

Electro harmonics nano small stone phaser pedal is very like the MXR pedals. This one has a single control knob that just takes the effected phaser signal all the way up to pulsating signal. It's just a simple silver or gray box as a usually use on many other other products. You also get a small little switch that changes the voice on this box. You can play around with this switch to better color your tone to you amp, effect pedals, and instrument. This pedal is one of the original boxes that they used with their effects series pedals. They has since re-sized the box to a smaller one which fits on the pedal board much easier. All the same tone and feel is in this box as the smaller ones.

    UTILIZATION

This box goes more in line with the boxes EI uses for their Big Muff distortion/fuzz pedals. This is a very simple design as it only has a single control knob switch and a single color switch. This case itself is very small and fits pretty easily on any pedal board or rack unit. You don't really need a manual because it has one switch and one control an knob and any monkey could probably figure out how to use this devise.

    SOUND QUALITY

The only reason to buy this one over the compact is that this looks like the old EI products. If you like the tone of the original MXR phasers then you will like the sound of this effect. They don't sound that great in a clean setting but when you give it some distortion then it really get a very usable and cool sound. If you have ever listened to any early Van Halen album then you have probably heard a phaser in action. Of course it wasn't this particular model but the sound is the same. It i a cool pedal to have on your pedal board to use sparingly but not all the time.

    OVERALL OPINION

Overall this is a very cool pedal to own and I think every guitar player should own one of these at some point . Whether that be this one of another the phaser pedal is very usable and very fun to play with. This pedal is a very good quality item and at the price new you can't really beat that. You can find them for right at around 480 which is an excellent price for this unit.

    SOUND QUALITY

Ben the sound quality is really hell no need to procrastinate, that's what it should do is never ugly or dirty avvec the same distortion.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it from time to time, with a rare pleasure, for 4 years is excellent. And we even recognize the guitar is plugged it.

The mine is true bypass, for he was against a small defect, there was a decrease in volume to put into action, I searched on the internet, it was enough for me to change two resistors and here is nickel.

8 because the took out the soldering iron and get two resistances is still tiring ....
Ha yeah that's true, must also go out to solder the power supply mini jack (weird idea but why not, it's actually good contact).

In short if you want a phaser, you really have to try this pedal, even if you find it too expensive, at least you have the reference in the ears.

That said, not a mortal, you can also put the batteries.

    UTILIZATION

The configuration is very simple: a big button "rate" to select the speed of the effect, a switch to select an effect little or trs make and sail.

As a result, trs rglages are simple, just as amazingly varis!

Although there are sr phasers with many more buttons, but I confess I do not see too much intrt ... The only thing missing to me is the possibility to pass a portion of the signal "dry" (no effect) for a more discreet.

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound is superb. Trs natural, warm, vintage, unlike phasers numriques super cold, it is also trs transparent, and does not give the impression of playing an electronic gizmo, but a guitar whose sound is "renforcquot, for a purpose.

The sounds range from a possible effect trs discrete put some relief in the sound but not change it radically, up sounds more pronounced or carrment crazy with a fast rate trs ! So it's a pretty versatile pedals, especially since it is also clear that in his home in crunch or distortion. The only problem I see is the impossibility of having a more discreet with a fast rate rgl.

Finally, unlike some previous ones opinion, I have not seen a drop in volume when I turn it on! May be silent this the case on old MODELS?

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few days, but do not shekels to go around, was still just a phaser, even if trs versatile!

I had tried before that phasers numriques, cold and trs pervasive, and it has nothing to do. In rjouissante simplicity of use, it offers a warm, natural and versatile, allowing both to add a little relief to her than to engage in DLIR funky or noisy!

    In résumé: perfect!

-The sound?? oh yes it is very good with a range of choices hell! depending on how you set the dial and 2-position or color! .
-SAVE THAT! This pedal eats all the potato on your guitar! its just plain a loss of 50% volume! and saturation much! .. So the big problem.
-So what!: Either pull out the soldering iron to change the 2 resistors that generate this problem.
    - Or place it in a loop (loop pedal effect)! (Ex Tonebone (loopbone) and you will not lose the signal from your favorite gratoune as you pass the 2 signals simultaneously and it is only happiness.

    OVERALL OPINION

It's been a while now and I use it in a really good sound when used with a block effect loop pedal! otherwise you will be disappointed by its tendency to suck your sound!.

Always try before you buy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Electro-Harmonix Small Stone Mk4Published on 02/09/10 at 22:28
This is a phase effect made by one of my favorite companies, Electro-Harmonix. It's an analog pedal that has been around for decades. It doesn't have any Mac/PC capabilities, and isn't MIDI-controlled or rackable.

    UTILIZATION

The editing on this pedal couldn't be simpler. There's the basic 1/4" in and out. There's a knob that allows you to change the rate of phase shift. There's also a switch that changes between two color modes, which each have their own unique properties.

    SOUND QUALITY

I like using this with my old-school setup, my Strat and Fender Twin. I like this phase because it has a classic vibe that I've heard in later Zeppelin and Floyd songs. These are some of…

    SOUND QUALITY

I like using this with my old-school setup, my Strat and Fender Twin. I like this phase because it has a classic vibe that I've heard in later Zeppelin and Floyd songs. These are some of the only records, along with a few other from their era, that actually have a phaser sound that isn't cheesy to my ears. This pedal has true bypass, so when it's off, it doesn't color your sound at all. It gives it a sound that will give your amp a color that isn't typical in phasers nowadays. It's a lot warmer and less "futuristic" sounding than you'd expect. It also doesn't make the sound "muddy" at all, which is what I hate in most phaser/chorus/flanger type effects. It's a bit more drastic than the phase 90, yet still doesn't go over the top. I've been able to emulate so many classic tones with it that I can't even count them all. Sometimes when cranked, it produces a little too much ambient noise for my taste, but this is easily avoided.

    OVERALL OPINION

I like the fact that this pedal isn't particularly expensive (around $75 usually). I think that for that price, it's not a bad deal at all. I sometimes would prefer this to my usual go-to, the phase 90, when recording guitars (the Phase 90 is better all-around). The warmth and range you get with this can really be inspiring. I would be tempted to use this often, especially since it reminds me so much of Jimmy Page. I'm sure many people would find plenty to like in this pedal.
