The Viewsonic VG900Bis a 19" LCD computer monitor. It's not being made any more as far as I can tell, as it's on the older side as far as computer monitors go, which means a few years old. I've used this monitor at a studio that I recently worked at. This was their main monitor, which was okay, but it's still a pretty small screen for Pro Tools. You can certainly get by with it and probably get used to it, but I personally wouldn't want to use it day after day at home if I had a choice. The monitor seems like it is built well and has a pretty clean look, but these days it isn't all that hard to find a good looking LCD monitor. Still, the Viewsonic VG900B is just fine if you're using it for most computer applications. There's not much more that you'll need if you just want to browse the web and such with this monitor. It'll work with any other computer and should treat you just fine. For me, the way Pro Tools is set up, it's best to view it on a widescreen monitor whenever possible. It'll still look good on this Viewsonic VG900B, and perhaps they even have a wider model that I don't know about. Either way, it's still going to be pretty cheap if you can find one of these used, as I don't believe they were very much when new. I don't know the availability of this in terms of if any stores still carry it or anything like that, but if you do come across one at a cheap price it's probably worth a second look. You can certainly find a cheap monitor out there if that's what you're looking for, so be sure to include this Viewsonic (and their others) in your search for yours!
