McDSP Supports HDX Hardware & AAX Format Support

Support for the AAX DSP and AAX Native plug-in formats will be added to McDSP HD v5 plug-ins.  Support for the AAX  Native plug-in format will be added to McDSP Native v5 plug-ins. McDSP v5 plug-ins will continue to support the TDM, RTAS, and Audio Unit (AU) plug-in formats.

Existing McDSP customers can upgrade each McDSP plug-in (HD or Native version) to v5 for $29 per plug-in until December 15, 2011.  After this deadline, the McDSP v5 upgrade price will increase to $49 per Native plug-in and $69 per HD plug-in.

 

In the interim, current McDSP v5 plug-ins will work on Pro Tools 10 as TDM and RTAS plug-ins.  As AAX plug-in format support is added to McDSP v5 plug-ins, the TDM and RTAS versions will be maintained for customers on Pro Tools 10, 9, 8, and 7.4.

 

The McDSP v5 release adds Audio Unit (AU) support, the 6030 Ultimate Compressor plug-in and the Classic Pack Next Generation plug-in collection to the McDSP product line. McDSP v5 includes support for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 along with Intel-Mac systems running Mac OS 10.5.x (Leopard), 10.6.x (Snow Leopard), and 10.7.x (Lion).

 

Support for the AAX plug-in format will be added in 2012.
