Other Microphone from Blue Microphones

Public price: $1,999 incl. VAT

The Blue Pro Drum Kit Kit is a microphone kit including two of Blue's Dragonfly microphones and a Mouse microphone, strategically composed for professional drum recording.

Inspired by the three-mic technique for recording drums made famous by bands like The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and professional engineers, the Pro Drum Kit Kit offers ''the Blue Microphones trio for achieving this sought-after sound.''

The three microphones of the Pro Drum Kit Kit were chosen to complete the sonic spectrum needed in producing a live recording session. The Dragonfly, an application specific Blue mic, was created by boosting the upper bass frequencies to help thicken up typically thin signal sources. This, coupled with a slightly depressed mid range and an extended top end, is designed to help cymbals to be recorded with a live, smooth timbre. Filling in the deeper bass frequencies, the Mouse microphone handles loud signal sources such as the kick drum.

The Pro Drum Kit Kit comes in a custom-made ATA flight case with a padded interior housing the two Dragonfly microphones, the Mouse microphone and shock mounts for each. Also enclosed in the Pro Drum Kit Kit is a $10 rebate coupon towards the purchase of Blue’s new enCORE 100i, the dynamic live microphone designed to capture instrumental sounds. The enCORE 100i can be used to augment the three-mic drum recording technique, also known as the four-mic drum technique.

Pricing & Availability
The Blue Pro Drum Kit Kit retails at $1999 and will be available July 25, 2010 at Sweetwater, Guitar Center, Musician’s Friend and additional authorized Blue professional audio retailers.
