Fender Mustang III
Vinz Centz Vinz Centz

«  Powerful! In every sense of the word! »

Published on 02/28/11 at 06:27
Combo 100 W transistor (DSP models) and USB connection for control from PC or MAC.
A dozen simulated amp and a lot of effects.
See detailed specifications on the Fender site.
Differences with version II in addition to power:

- Celestion.
- A 2-button footswitch (up down) provided.
- LCD screen on the combo
- A knob for the midrange
- Effects loop

Only downside: the connectors are placed in any way, especially the usb ...

UTILIZATION

Configuration simple: you plug, it selects one of 100 presets by turning the wheel, play ...
the presets are not ordered, it's a shame, we move from a jazzy clean to distortion of pig without warning.
this system presets can easily find any sound, which can then refine the EQ very easily via physical, via the menu of the receiver and then via Fuse ...
Ultimately this amp is very friendly and fun to use!

SOUNDS

I wanted an amp versatile and resourceful and that is exactly what I found in the Mustang, I like to spend a well Grunge Stoner or a good old 60's to his Fender reverb to play Surf Rock or garage.
I play an Ibanez with two humbuckers Art 120 to active, I must decrease the guitar's volume pot to enjoy the nuances of the amp, I think my guitar keeps well despite the personality of the DSP amp.
Overall the sounds are anything but hollow and slender, even at low volume.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for four days, I have not been around, I barely watched Fuse.
I tried just before the amp, just a Line 6 modeling and pitiful that I found confusing and a Peavey transistor typed too archaic to me.
What I like most is the sound, versatility, the geek side of Fuse and usb, ease of use
What I regret is the placement of connectors and that's it!
The value for money is simply incredible for the price of a pedal you have a combo of geek!
To this day I would do this choice without hesitation.
