«  Good distortion Marshallian »

This is an overdrive / distortion. Classic controls, while analog transistors.

In / Out mono jack, power supply, no fantasy.

UTILIZATION

Typical controls: gain, volume, tone, plus a small switch to boost treble or bass.

Controls are effective, no complaints, the switch seems very useful, I find the "HP" position is unworkable.

SOUND QUALITY

This is a Marshall-type distortion JCM800/900. To be able to compare on a real JCM900, it's very close, it's the sound I was looking, I'm happy. The gain is the same order of magnitude as that of the JCM, not very high, but for a large distortion is enough.

Not too suitable for modern sounds / metal. It's very vintage. the sound is very defined, it is very "lamps". It's really the sound of the JCM900 channel distortion.

OVERALL OPINION

I have it in my pedalboard for 1 year and I'm very happy. It gives me a very warm distortion, precise and relatively "clean" ("controllable" would be a better word). I find it unfortunate that she did not gain a little more (personal on mine it is always thoroughly), which would yield much more powerful distortion. I think looking at the diagram to see if we can change that.

I do not regret having purchased it, I forgot the exact price, but I got it a bit cheaper than the list price. Again I think we pay much for a "legend" and a product made by hand in the U.S.. We must know what you want ...

In the end it is still not ideal for me the distortion I'm looking for several years, although it comes close. If I have the courage to make myself the distortion that I can not find on the market (for now), I will consider seriously the pattern of it ...
