In the era of my purchase, the famous card c'tait "ISIS" which fesait of fighting. Unfortunately, the design of the latter did not use with future platforms (Win2000/WinXP) ... Short!

APRS much research, I stopped on the DSP24: 8entres, 8sorties Report qualitprix exeptionnel ... The DSP24 trs far ahead of the good old ISIS!

Currently, I use this card for heavy multitrack audio recordings with Cubase SX2. I am also a few additions midi ... I have no problem of "clik", it works perfectly well.
I use this card with the following configuration:
-Gigabyte motherboard with Intel 845PE chipset
-Intel Pentium IV 3.06GHz Hyper-Threading
Ddr 333 -512
-1 Maxtor 40GB / 80GB a disk segeate
ATI-9600.

Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase trs the DSP24.

UTILIZATION

Installation is no problem. However, this card rclame an equipment trs stable and good quality: any default will be felt the stability of the DSP24.

The interface of the external link may seem complicated to novice users ...

The positive point trs: trs active forum (in English) on the site Staudio.com: rponse you a professionally related staudio in a few days (on average).

GETTING STARTED

The drivers ... Only downside to the DSP24 ...
However, a new team has been working since late 2003 on the design of new drivers ... ESI and it sticks to it ... it is not nothing! One of the best teams of drivers involved so the DSP24!
Short! No fewer than five versions (all versions still BETA) t have posted on the site of STaudio since the arrival of ESI. Currently, the version 8.1rc5 is an extremely stable version, which allows to use the card in trs good conditions, because they support dsormais technologies
- E-WDM
- MS
- MME multichannel
- WDM KS
- ASIO 2.0
- GSIF (with multiclient-support)
- DirectSound
- MIDI I / O
- AC3 output
and soon the DirectWIRE lite!

Cubase SX2, I reach record 8 tracks simultanment ... free click! Simply set the correct buffer size (do not go below 2 ms latency, of course!)

Note that I russi actively use the card with the latest drivers 192000Hz (8.1rc5) ... !

All good except the sending of some incorrect files to wav formats (DTS and AC3 it seems) via S / PDIF (absent on the problem of staudio 7.x), which can crash some external decoder adapters. (Please note however, with DVD playback software WinDVD or PowerDVD style should not be a problem if they are encoded in DTS standart ... like most of the DVD).

OVERALL OPINION

I use this card for over 2 years (formerly on a Athlon XP 1800 + and chipset viaKT133 ... um, needless to say I had every conceivable poblmes on the old configuration).

Pros:
Qualitprix-report
-Active forum staudio ractif
ESI-team working on new drivers
Adda2000-8 inputs and these

Ngatifs points:
-Interface external link seem afraid complex
Circuit simply disables multimedia with the latest variety (the quality of any fawn silent mdiocre)
-Problem with some formats (DTS and AC3?) Via S / PDIF & ESI drivers

Anyway ... materially, it is a good card for a trs home studio quality ... Espron that future drivers will make it a little queen ... : O) ESI Courage!
