Thread hissing problem

When i try to record using my pod x3 into cubase or tracktion 3 it only records a loud hissing noise , ive changed all sound setting on my pc but it does the same thing, any help please.

What output are you using? and have ever recorded audio before?

Are you sure that your sound card is not saturating?
