The ME-1 is an expander half rack, 1U, has 256 sounds divided into 16 banques.Les sounds are not editable at all, for that matter virtually nothing is editable on this machine. It has an output jack stereos, a headphone jack (the machine back ???), an IN and THROUGH the minimum union in brief. The effects are just as reverb and echo with limits of 127 not adjustable. Detail not appreciable: it n 'y' has no preset or backup, which is particularly problematic in concert.
UTILIZATION
Nonetheless, despite the poor 2 buttons, the interface is well thought out it is fast enough to choose its sounds and effects. The manual when he is the image of the Expander, still happily with the minimum patches to choose the instruments from a single keyboard maitre.Le interest of the expander is in the sound.
SOUNDS
Here we are, the sounds are stored by CATEGORY, the sounds of acoustic piano (32), are wonderful, highly crystalline, the sounds of Rhodes, Wurlitzer, FM EP (32 in all) are the best that I have heard, and responds well to attacks Veloci 's great to play live, if you want the best sound ... buy a rhodes rhodes. The clavinets are not bad, organs are not great, except one or two, the bass is incredibly realistic, and the percussion and drum sets. The synths and ground (although this is not the interest) are all made respctable, for cons for the rest (brass, voilons, accordion, guitar) it is better to turn to other expanders. In short if like me you want to use it as a group, and you seek a realistic and effective, then the ME-1 is for you.
OVERALL OPINION
Personally, with the ME-1, I found the quality I was looking for, and make a report qualitprix unbeatable (I have bought 500EUR) I tried several reputedly expanders such as JV or E-mu, I 've never found sounds as realistic and vivant.Cette machine allows me to have light equipment, easy to use and efficient in terms of sound quality. As against this must be the your first concern. If you find a machine to do everything, go your way.
