- Guitar made in Japan.
- Basswood body.
- Manche "1pc JS neck", 22 frets, maple with rosewood fingerboard, multi-radius.
- W/6105 frets.
- Floyd "Pro Edge."
- Mirco handle: DiMarzio ® PafPro ®.
- Bridge pickup: DiMarzio ® Fred ®.
- 1 + volume control push-pull high-pass filter.
- + 1 tone control push-pull split the humbuckers.
- Accatillage black.
- Finish "Black Pearl", Black Metallic.
- Supplied in case.
For me this guitar is perfect, I put 9 / 10 (the 24 boxes may be missing for some).
UTILIZATION
The handle is thick enough, but it is paradoxically much more comfortable than my very flat RG. This is especially true for the rhythm, the hand hold very naturally.
The button has a radius that changes quite pronounced on the handle.
Overall it was quickly at ease, you feel just the frets (very fine) and touch the wood is very nice.
For me, the best round I've played so far!
SOUNDS
First grip vacuum: even if not connected, the JS sounds well and strong which is good sign for the future.
After changing the strings and adjusted the floyd, it's time to plug the beast ... For my part I use a JCM900 combo changed (Vintage preamp + HP 30) and some analog-style pedals DS-1, Cry Baby, CH-1, etc..
And there, slap!
The sound is beautiful, lots of bass, very powerful, very pure. Playing with volume, tone, the high-pass filter, etc., we get a very wide range of different sounds. And above we obtain easily the sound of the master. Using the DS-1 we obtain the aggressive sound of the old albums, and using the distortion of the amp was the sound of the album Super Colossal.
Despite what is being said, I think this guitar has a strong personality. Good job Mr. Satriani Ibanez and team!
OVERALL OPINION
I bought my 1000 used JS (model 2001) on eBay U.S.. Pleasant surprise, it happened to me almost new, not a single scratch, no frets wear. So only 1100 USD including shipping, we can say it's a deal!
As big fan of Satch, my opinion is certainly not objective. I am amazed at all events by the ease of play (long live the legato) and the beauty and sound power.
For me this guitar is the guitar of my dreams, I can not wait to play live!
