UTILIZATION
very easy to edit, there are all the standard functions, in their classic name (threshold, ratio, attack, release
decay and threshold settings for the Gate, and volume knob "make up gain" output.
SOUND QUALITY
the sound quality is not his forte, it is rather its ease of use and the next "vintage" it brings to her (eg,. a Kick or Snare 808)
do not bother trying to get modern effects (Guetta, Justice ...), it will be rather for lovers 80's sounds a little cheap
it blows not bad, but the gate is fortunately very effective (a little nag), and manages to make it disappear completely but cutting a little "tail" sounds: the effect just be great if desired (on reverbs like "gated drums") but soon enough annoying otherwise we hear little "click" to close the gate, so there goes the decay: the breath and reappears ...
OVERALL OPINION
for a beginner or a first compressor, despite a Quick take snuff, I would recommend something more transparent, less anecdotal level sound (unless you're looking to just make the old House / Techno 80s), the Boss CL-50 is better (more "headroom"), more transparent, with a very similar ergonomics. Symetrix some models (425, 525 ...) are still not too expensive and would correspond better to use "lambda".
