Waves collaborated once again with the Abbey Road Studios in order to offer the new J37 Tape Saturation plug-in.
The J37 Tape is based on the modeling of a Studer J37 4-track tape recorder produced in the 60's, and that can be heard on multiple classic recordings. Waves added to this model three oxide tape formulas developed by EMI during the 60's and 70's, for which Waves reproduced the exact frequency responses and harmonic distortions characteristics. Last, a tape delay is included with three delay types, sync, high-pass and low-pass filters.
The GUI allows for adjusting the bias, wow and flutter, tape speed and more.
The J37 Tape plug-in is available in native version for Mac OS X and Windows for the special introductory price of $149 (regular price is $249) and in SoundGrid format for $249 instead of $375. You can download a trial version from www.waves.com.
