Designation :Ampex tube tape recorder channel modified into a microphone preamplifier
as designed by Greg Norman (ElectricalAudio).

EXCELLENT.
This unit is the first in a series of 6 that I have modified. I had sent it to Greg Norman for a check and gain adjustment before tackling the series on this model.
Uses:
A lot of gain is delivered, which makes it a very good preamp for ribbon microphones in particular. Very rich, present sound. Guitar, bass, vocals, everything is brought to the fore.
