«  no ... to avoid. »

I already came across this model in different variations (cell BETA58A and SM58), in use on lead vocals in concert, on the variety and jazz.

I tried other references to older series Shure ... and I think the quality has clearly deteriorated in similar price range in recent years.

It's cheap, lightweight, but strong for the receiver ... even if the AC adapter let you down sooner or later (wiring fragile, as usual).
... but the carrier is poorly designed ... the gain of the issue is not really adjustable, except with the little switch-10dB, we would have liked to see it extended to a position-20dB ... because it still manages to saturate the RF carrier ... all because of a small resistance CMS incorrectly calibrated within the transmitters in this series ... known problem and easily solved, but never solved: the business of shure is quite nauseating about this range.

To be clear: RF technologies are mastered and now it would be easy for Shure to make a product usable in a semi-pro, pro to see a similar price ... but Shure has always had an intermediate range, more expensive, quite unnecessarily more bling too (with an LCD display on the front of the receiver) facing these users ...
But now, a good system is expensive now ... HF and this thing is not a good system for HF musical application.
You want a good mic? Take a wire ... for the same price, you will have a unique quality, Shure, or elsewhere.
